Indiana insiders reporting that Matt Roth will commit to IU

An Indiana insider is reporting on their premium board and in chatrooms that Matt Roth will commit to Indiana.

Here is what they say--
Coach Sampson has informed some of the IU players, one I just spoke to, that Matt Roth indeed will pledge his allegiance to IU.
I'm happy to have him personally. I think he'll really help us get over some of the hiccups we've had with Northwestern and Penn State.

I just figured people want to know this.

Let's hope they are wrong.

Seems to me that the last report from some guy on a blog was totally wrong.

The guy on the Premium board saying this is a guy named
IUbballfan1 and he only has a few hundred posts, compared to the tens of thousands that many of the IU fans have.
Even the response by other posters to his news is sorta negative and people tell him to shut up and let Matt have his day in front o fthe mike, and be allowed to make the announcement himself.

On the other hand, I'd expect the BU camp to be leaking good news by now if the news were good. There's no question that, at this point, he has verballed to one of the two.

Eh, I don't necessarily agree with that. We've had some unexpected surprises from time to time. A few years ago we thought we were shoe-in's for Rodney Hannah, and ended up with this lightly-recruited forward named Lawrence Wright. Rashad Austin was thought to be off our radar, only to reappear at the last minute. JL and Co. are pretty good at keeping things close to the vest. Leaking something like this, especially for a local kid, wouldn't probably sit too well with MR. This is HIS day. It's really anybody's guess at this point IMO. No use wasting energy worrying about it.

That's good to hear.

Regarding Roth.....

Regarding Roth.....

Let's just say that the BU staff found out about the press conference today, via the media report. Indiana, on the other hand, has known about the PC since Tuesday. That ought to give you a clue......

PK - I hate to dispute what you've commented about, however, since you joined today and this was your first post, how is it that you have the inside track that says that the BU Staff heard about the press conference today through the media? Are you employed at Bradley University? Do you have a contact at Bradley that told you that BU didn't know about the press conference until today?

BU Family....

BU Family....

No, I'm not employed by BU, but I'm fortunate enough to talk daily with someone who would be in a position to speak w/ both staffs.

Then this is a done deal. We wish Matt well at Indiana. If he ever gets tired of sitting on the bench there, he'll always be welcome at Bradley.

Well I wish him the best, maybe if things don't work out at Indiana he'll end up at BU from the reverse route of Lance Stemler.

A little birdy inside a building told me something a few hours ago...I didn't want to let it out until it was concrete though. But what the bird said agrees with the pre-press conference news that is being leaked.

Good luck MR! I hope you find the playing time that you deserve...if not keep old BU in mind :D .

Thanks for the classy posts guys.

We are VERY happy and feel fortunate to have Matt Roth coming to Bloomington at this time next year. He was a perfect fit in this recruiting class for us. Now all we need is a big man.

I said it in my other post, but I really respect the Bradley program. Best of luck.
