Tyler Storm to Northern Illinois

Thanks for the link, scout4126.
Will NIU still be interested in Devin Bawinkel now? Since they are similar players.

Tough luck for Illinois State. They may have been the only MVC team that offered Tyler.

Question DC, didn't most consider Storm to be a better prospect than Balwinkle? I would say this is a pretty good grab for NIU!

Bawinkle can play the 1 and the 2, but Tyler Storm will play the 3 and the 4 spots, so there would be no reason why a team wouldn't want both.
Tyler wants to play a wing position in college although in time he will strengthen up and be able to play the low post.
An illness last summer kept him from playing well on the AAU circuit over a month's span, but Tyler is a fine ball player, and will do well at NIU. From everything I hear, the biggest asset with TS is that he would run through a brick wall if the copach asks, he's the kind of kid that will be a real asset to the team.

I know Illinois State was keeping close tabs on Storm, but I had never read where they had offered him.

I thought I had read that ISU offered him, but I cannot find anywhere that reprots that now. So, my mistake, they probably didn't.

I have thought all along that Tyler Storm will be a very good college player, and last night some evidence lends to that.
Storm's Geneseo played against Joseph Bertrand's team, Sterling.
The final score was 53-51 with Sterling winning, but Tyler Storm was the guy everyone came away impressed by.
Tyler Storm had 23 points 17 rebounds.

Here are some message board comments from people who watched the game and all of these come frmo Illinois fans who were there to watch Bertrand:
"storm was a load. he carried geneseo"
"storm dominated the lane on the offensive end"
"storm is a superior high school talent, uses his footwork, smarts, strength and hustle to clean up on garbage points."

Tyler Storm has his own web site, and it is obvious someone takes the time to do a good job!

Tyler Storm had other offers from Albany, DePaul, Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, Lehigh, Murray State, Northeastern, The Citadel, and Western Illinois.

We've already filled out four scholarships with Mike DiNunno (Von Steuben), Tyler Storm, Bryan Hall (Whitney Young), and JUCO Dominique Johnson (Southwest Tennessee C.C.). Unless another scholarship opens up then we're done. I have a feeling redshirt freshmen Darrius Gaters (Marshall) may transfer at the end of the season. He has yet to receive any PT all season. If Cody Yelder (Richards) doesn't get his academics in order he may end up leaving as well.
