Season Opener!

I'll be there for sure and I'll probably get some friends and other alumni in the Chicago area to go with.

I e-mailed UIC about tickets and they said they will not release any lower level tickets to the public and they are reserving the entire lower level for that game for students, faculty, and season ticket holders. Tickets are $20 through TicketMaster (regular UIC games are $15, they're squezing and extra fin out of us!).

As for the other Chiagoland game against Loyola Nov. 28, I was e-mailed back that those tickets will go on sale in early November and are $10 through their ticket office. All their tickets are general admission to the Gentile Center.

Has the alumni assoc. announced any pre or post game plans for the Chicagoland games or does anyone know of plans?

Don't worry about Loyola tickets. You can walk up and buy them. They don't come close to selling out at home.

I'll be present at the Pavillon for our opener. I think its great that BU has managed to get the team in Chicago the last few years. Its fun for us Chicago-based alums.

I'm quite familiar with the area so I'll dole out some bar and restaurant recommendations for the area if anyone wants them. UIC is hard by Greektown and Little Italy, lots of great places to hopefully celebrate.
 
I am planning to be at both Chicago games. I am hoping to get a couple other Chicago area grads to attend, too.

Looks like UIC is very aware of how many people BU might bring up to this game, and is trying to ensure a home court advantage by not releasing any lower level seating to anyone other than their people.
 
I'll be roadtripping up there for the UIC and Loyola games and hopefully will have at least a carful of other students with me.
 
I just tried to purchase 4 upper bowl seats for the game and ticketmaster couldn't find any. Anyone else having trouble? I can't imagine they'd be sold out yet could they??
 
Just look for "best available". I just did it and 4 tickets popped up. I don't know where in the gym though. Definitely not sold out.
 
BU's bench should be in front of Section 114 and Section 115. The tickets bought thru ISU's athletic dept last year were in those sections. ISU sold out those sections and were given more tickets in Section 103.

UIC doesn't open up the upper bowl often for games. (hasn't been a real need to in the past.)

Also their seating is tight. Think smaller seats than Wrigley.

They have a main parking lot right outside the Pavilion. (on Harrison) I think it's like $5 to park there. Some parking on Racine (just stay south of the Eisenhower) and other streets south of the Pavilion.

I called the UIC ticket office and tried to buy tickets to the Nov. 10 opener.
Something very strange happened. They were happy to sell me 2 tickets in the lower bowl for the game at $20 each. They said they had a lot of seats available in the lower bowl. So I charged 2 tickets to my VISA card and they said they would be in the mail. They asked for my phone number, but I thought that was just a formality.
1 hour later, they called me and asked if I was from Bradley. I told them, yes, I was, and they then said there were no lower bowl tickets available! They said I could buy tickets in the upper bowl, sections 214 or 215. I declined.

I think the ticket office there must be under orders not to sell any tickets in the lower bowl to anyone other than home team fans! When someone finally figured out where my address was located (near Peoria) they then knew I must be a Bradley fan. The lower bowl tickets that were so abundant when I ordered them, were suddenly no longer available.
UIC averaged 3691 fans a game at home last year, in an arena that seats 8,000 for basketball. There is simply no way they will sell out the lower bowl for this game.--

Are these people for real? Refusing to sell tickets to opposing fans, even when they are obviously available, then lying about the availability just to force me to buy in the upper bowl! What a gag! These people hope to be a big time program some day, but with stuff like this, they really embarrass themselves.

If anyone knows how to get a couple lower bowl seats, let me know. :)
 
Shame on them for such a bush league ploy.
But then what to expect from a team whose been stuck in the 1960's for the past decade, unable to recruit the best players right out of their back yard, and falling apart in turmoil with their best player quitting and their coach taking a sabbatical in the absolute middle of the season.
If they have another 13-18 and near-200 RPI year, I can't say I'll feel sorry for them the way they treated BU fans.
 
I would definetly go for a bus trip. I think if we get enough people, why not have a bus trip!? It would make it a lot easier for people who don't know the Chicago area very well. Let me know if anyone hears anything about a planed trip...

I just purchased4 tickets in the upper part of the arena as they would not sell me any lower ones; I would rather be up there with all the Bradley fans anyway and with a small arena like they have the seats are probably not that bad.

And look who you are dealing with... a branch of the "Flagship". Don't assume the arrogance isn't gonna be there. They are all of the same ilk.
