Next Bradley game-- Saturday Nov. 10, 7 pm at UIC

UIC is mostly an urban commuter college. There is not much of a true campus atmosphere there. When students finish classes, they head home and to their jobs. There is just not a lot of interest in the sports teams, and their message board reflects that.

I just checked their board, and there was only 1 person viewing the board when I checked around 10 am. At the same time, there were over 50 viewers on the Bradleyfans board. They have only 190 members signed up and the board has been up and running since November, 2004--that's longer than Bradleyfans has been in existence (Jan, 2005).

UIC is starting to change though. The Trib ran an article recently about how something like 25% of UIC undergrads now live on campus. That's a huge increase from about 10 years ago. Also the neighborhoods around campus have gotten more popular over the years, there's many more bars and stuff then there used to be.

But you're right...interest in UIC sports is middling. Having grown up here I've kind of concluded that Chicago is just not much of a college sports town.

BU is an early 5 point favorite out of Vegas. If I were a betting man (which I am), I would say take the Braves.

Speaking of favs. My little brother is in Vegas and called. NCAA championship odds at the book joints.

BU 500 to 1
Illini 75 to 1
SIU 100-1
VCU 250 to 1

The favorite was UCLA. That is all I can remember. He put $5 on the Braves for me.
