OK guys, I just got back from the game, and I can tell you one thing, I loved it except for the fact that we lost. I wish every home game had a crowd like this.

It was a dissapointing loss for sure, especially after leading for over 25 minutes of the game, but MSU was great tonight, and they are a great team. I think was a great learning experience for the new guys on the team, and I though that Sam M. played excellent defense as well. The only players I was dissapointed in were Collins and Salley, partially Egolf. Egolf should NOT take another 3 this season! As for Collins, he was lost out there tonight, and clearly needs some more coaching and learning the system to get to where we need him. Salley, I see some great stuff from, then some complete crap. If he can become more consistent it would really help this team.

Looking toward the future: I think if we can play defense like tonight and get in our groove, no team in the Valley will be able to sweep us. I think we will be 1 or 2 in the conference this year and will play good in the tournament. I see positive things coming for this team, and I really hope we have a good conference season, because our window is closing for bit as JC & Ruff will be leaving next year.

still it's hard to win without knowing you can against decent opponents
i think had we won this game or even against vandy the next couple would be a hell of a lot easier

You make a great point there BuB55.

But then again... if BU had a 9-0 record right now, there would be a fine line between confidence and arrogance when it came to these next 2 road games.

But I'd rather be 9-0 and rolling the dice right now. ;)

I don't think Bradley will have a problem finishing 1st or 2nd in the Valley. Southern has struggled mightily against good teams, didn't even put up a challenge. Northern IA is decent but they havn't exactly blown the covers off of teams like Bradley has when it should. Creighton is probably the team that I most fear, they have been consistent in blowing teams out but we'll see how they do tomorrow night in there big non-conference showdown at Xavier. A win there will most likely get Creighton at or near the Top 25 as they got some Top 25 votes yesterday. I very much like our chances rest of way, almost a whole new team 9 games into the season. Lost the first game that we could win 9 out of 10 times and was tied or within 5 points against a #9 and #23 ranked team. This team can play with anyone, couple that with a great valley season along with non-conference wins against Wright State, VCU and the Bracket Buster and we can book the dance.

It's probably a good thing that there is a week layoff before the next game. You have to think there would be an emotional hangover if there was a game in the next few days.

Wright State has only played three games so far. Winning two at home (Coastal Carolina & Marshall) and losing on the road (Marist). Thye have two conference home games against Valpo and Butler before Bradley plays them.
