I thought $10 for a little hat is too much honestly... they coulda dropped the price down on those to $5, then I woulda picked on up... But I did pick up a couple scarfs!

For after the game, did y'all make it down there on time? I heard that the buses left late when I got to work this morning and saw that y'all had to drive thru freezing rain a great deal of the way. Then the announcers on the game said that Bradley brought 6 buses, I thought we had 8 of them. Did something happen to those other 2 buses on the way?

According to Fyrebyrd, who posted a message via cellphone, said there were 9 busses, and one bus had to be abandoned, but they were able to fit the passengers onto the other 8.

we got into the stadium after about 2 minutes of play (if I remember correctly)
it was a steady rain each half... slowing down at the break

to sum it up:
great first half
mental lapse after the penalty kick (that should not have happened!) in the second half

great run and hope to see this success again next year with some home-field advantages!!!

Hey, I got back about 945, but sat down and was studious for a while. Like I posted through my cell phone...we had 8 buses, but about 45 minutes before our stop to change out drivers, which was Brownsburg, Indiana, the driver side wiper went out making it obviously difficult for him to drive through the downpour. So the people on the last bus, including myself were fit onto the rest of the buses. The first 2 hours of the trip was a crawl due to the freezing rain. It took us nearly an hour to reach Bloomington alone. However, about 8am it turned into regular rain and we were able to retain a normal speed. I walked into the stadium right as they were finishing the national anthem. The first half was great on both parts, alot of physical play and good action. I believe the PK in the second half basically demoralized the whole Bradley team and it looked as if we didn't have as many men back after that either. The penalty in the box was incredibly reminiscent of the "take down" against Creighton in the MVC tourney championship that was ruled a no call. I do not envy the referee for having to make a ruling on it, but for as physical as the whole game was, I was kind of surprised he made the call. Their second goal was just one hell of a bending shot around Haynes and then the last two goals were just mental lapses on the defense. The trip back was much smoother than the ride there which included a stop in Brookville, Ohio where an all out mad dash was made by 300-400 people to any of seven fast food places. Regardless of everything, the fan support at the time game was amazing, even after the final whistle, it took quite a while for the fans to leave their seats, as most of the Bradley fans stayed to applaud the efforts and the overall accomplishment of the soccer team as a whole. It was a great season and I cannot wait for next season.

Thanks Fyrebyrd for the great report.
Sounds like you had a lot of fun despite the weather and the loss.
We really did have a great run this year with a great bunch of players and coaches and support staff.

I find myself kind of sad to say it's over. I really thought they had a shot at the Final 4. All in all though, what a season. College athletics is extremely hard in and of itself - the mental aspect can be exhausting in a "normal" season - so doing what these guys did given all the other circumstances, it's just amazing.

Jim DeRose is truly a leader.
