Not basketball, but since many here know these guys, here is the PJ STar's report on the first qualifying round of the 2013 Peoria City Golf Championship-
http://www.pjstar.com/sports/x853695586/City-pace-set-at-a-speedy-69-by-Phegley

Former Bradley golfer Scott Phegley, son of Hall of Famer Roger Phegley, shot the low score so far at 69, which was amazing considering it was pouring rain Friday morning. 7-time former champion Rick LeHew too a break from following basketball to shoot a 73. Qualifying continues today and Sunday.

Sometimes you can't win for losing. The Park District decided to move qualifying to the weekend instead of the traditional Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday thinking they'd get more entries. Instead they got less. Maybe next time they don't schedule it against one of the most popular and traditional tournament in the area, the Monge Best Ball.

The city hasn't had more than 300 participants in the past 5-10 years. Not many big names in it anymore and scores for champ flight are progessively worse. Definitely lost its lust compared to 10 years ago.

Is there a web site to view the current standings/results?
The PPD website says the PJ Star is the sponsor - so why don't they have a results page?

but did you notice that several of the top competitors' results were omitted from this morning's paper...

all the scores have been posted daily to

ppdgolf.org

under tournament results.

they also have the brackets for each flight posted.

from what I can see the cut was 99.......yes 99....

3 or 4 years ago I qualified at Kellogg and the cut was 84!!!!!

only a handful of players didn't make it into the 160 spots.

Thanks FWO - that is great - they should definitely promote that link so the rest of us sports fans can find it & follow it - instead of that link being so obscure and hidden that hardly anyone knows about it.

Here are the direct links to the results pages:

I only know too because their "PPD Golf App" which has course GPS I use also sends me random notifications and it did about scores being online. Otherwise I wouldn't have known.

FWO I shot an 86 and missed the cut that year :) if that was the year...1st year I played in it...popped my 1st drive a mile high and about 30 yards....:(
