2 MVC games Monday, Nov. 10- both games are on ESPN+
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/scoreboard/_/date/20251110/seasontype/2/group/18

Indiana State (1-1) at SIUE (2-0) - 6:00 pm - SIUE favored by 1.5
SIUE was a close 2nd in the Ohio Valley Conference preseason poll. They finished 2nd in the OVC regular season to SEMO last year, then easily defeated SEMO (69-48) to win the OVC Tournament Championship. They got the school's first NCAA Tournament bid, but lost to #1 seed Houston 40-78.
Their next game is at Drake on Friday night.

Simpson College (1-1) at Drake (1-1) - 6:30 pm
Simpson College is a small Division III liberal arts college in Indianola, Iowa, with an enrollment of about 1,200. It was founded in 1860 as a Methodist seminary, and is named for a prominent pre-Civil War Methodist bishop. It is still affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
Their athletic teams are the Storm, which was chosen in 1992 to replace their former nickname, the Redmen (women's teams were the Lady Reds). The Redmen Indian mascot was also deleted, and after years without a mascot, they introduced an elephant named Thunder as their new mascot in 2021.

Here are their old and new mascots. For some reason, the old mascot looks a little familiar-

Not very original, but I have a suggestion if they want to choose a new mascot

Yoda: Love your recommendation. Only problem is that it would require royalty fees to Disney with the slim chance of obtaining their permission.

Is there an unspoken agreement that if SIUE gets a certain amount of wins against the Valley that they get added? /s

Haha... I have no direct knowledge from inside of the MVC headquarters. SIUE is developing into a much better mid-major under Brian Barone and I hope they continue. So maybe some day, but I don't see them near the top of the list of potential schools that the MVC might be considering adding right now.
For the record, last season was the first time in the 15 years they have been in the OVC that they were over .500 in the conference, So they need to prove it was not just a fluke.
