Another ESPN goof up, this time Memphis

I don't know if y'all caught it or not but I was reading the Memphis news site, Commercialappeal, and they have a story about the last second 3 to remain undefeated. Well in the 200 user comments, several of them mention that ESPN had a big front page story about Memphis unbeaten no more. That went up like 5 seconds before the game was over and confirmed by multiple posters LOL. It was changed within a minute or 2 after the game officially ended. Can you say OOOOPPPSSSS.

Typical from the drive-by media. They want to tell the news first SO BAD, they will try to "create history".

Funnier yet is when they will try to "re-create history" and tell it differently.... as if the facts of the outcome never happened because they are re-telling the story with a different point of view or angle.

I wouldn't call it "creating history." More just being prepared for history. All just part of the Digital Age and the media trying to get things out ASAP. That is sad ESPN would actually post that before the game's over, though. That's a terrible goof, although not quite as bad as "DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN."

Mob, I'm not sure I get your second point. Could you elaborate, please?
