Congrats to Jim Les and his UC-Davis Aggies...

They play tonight in Dayton vs. NC Central
The game is on TruTV - available on some, but not all cable systems..
It starts a little before 6pm Central time (game time is stated as 5:40pm)

How many have WON GAMES in the NCAA Tournament BOTH as a player and a coach - and, if he wins tonight...

If UC Davis wins tonight, Jim will be in rare company- that would make his official NCAA Tournament record (for a couple days) 3-1, a winning percentage of .750, which would be as good or better than Tom Izzo, John Calipari, Rick Pitino, Roy Williams, Larry Brown, Bill Self, and most HOF college coaches. Only Coach Mike Krzyzewski, among the coaches in this year's NCAA Tournament, has a better winning percentage than .750-

Even with a loss, Jim's NCAA record would still be .500, something very few college coaches can boast of.

I'm happy for Jim and getting into the tournament....but I'll wait until he has 30 plus tournament games before worrying about comparisons with the above mentioned

I'm happy for Jim Les too. He is a valuable asset where ever he coaches. A huge mistake to have ever treated him so poorly. I guess when you are trying to destroy a program, it is something that you do. Our huge misfortune.
 
UC Davis had 18 turnovers which helped NC Central stay close, but they overcame them with good defense and decent shooting to hold on for a 67-63 win over NC Central.
Junior College transfer Chima Moneke had 18 points and 12 rebounds. Lawrence White had 14 points and Brynton Lemar had 15.

UC Davis advances to play Kansas in Tulsa at 5:50 PM Central.
 
Congrats Jim and UCD I'll bet KU doesn't want to see JL .Hope they can send Self home but I won't hold my breath. Fun game to watch. Wish we could get a home and home with UCD now that Queenie is gone. Does anyone think JL would come back?
 
Congrats to UCD. I only saw the last few minutes where they really outplayed NCC the last few minute. NCC took some questionable shots and a bad pass after a rebound them
 
Dan Dakich has a point.... :-P. And I totally agree with him... GREAT to see Jim back in the Tourney and a win to boot!

Jim may not need to get the big salary...he has trained his son Tyler well, given him a great start in life, a tremendous education at one of the world's top universities (UC-Davis) and a great work ethic, and now just 2 years out of college, Tyler is already a very successful sales & management professional with a top medical company. (similar to DA & Sam Maniscalco)
So Tyler can now support the family if they go broke!!
