Bradley has offered a scholarship to an extremely talented sophomore (class of 2017) 6'6", 180 lb.forward Christian Negron, from Elgin Larkin HS in Elgin, Illinois.
He has played with the Mac Irvin Fire AAU team this summer.

nice column on Negron...

mentions Bradley...

"..Growing up as a fan of the Illini, Negron was stoked when Groce extended an offer
???I haven??™t scheduled anything yet, but I plan on going in August..."
The Illini aren??™t the only Big Ten team that has made an early push for Negron. Iowa got in the mix with an offer
Negron hinted that those two may be at the top for him right now.

Negron also holds offers from Bradley, DePaul and Virginia Tech..."

Latest article on Christian Negron reports that DePaul is aggressively pursuing him, and he has an unofficial visit scheduled Aug. 10. Teams "in the mix" are said to be DePaul, Butler, UAB & Bradley.

Christian Negron blew up and had an excellent summer..
a current article notes that he has two official visits set up and looks to set three more..

Already scheduled:
"Oregon State – September 17
DePaul – September 30"

Possible others:

New Chicago Tribune article on BU recruit Christian Negron-
http://www.chicagotribune.com/subur...-basketball-notes-st-0907-20160906-story.html

Larkin forward Christian Negron has been cementing official college visits, and one is a surprise.....Oregon State being one of three visits he plans.
Negron, a 6-foot-6 senior, also has scheduled official visits to DePaul and Alabama-Birmingham. DePaul and UAB offered scholarships early in the recruiting process.
Negron also is considering a visit to Bradley. Early in the process, Bradley offered Negron a scholarship but changed head coaches from Geno Ford to Brian Wardle last season.
"The interest was still there with the new staff this summer," Negron said.

Iowa and Illinois made initial offers, but are currently not in the mix.
"Iowa wanted me to wait until spring, and I'd like to make a decision in fall," Negron said.

BU recruit Christian Negron just posted this graphic on his personal twitter page-

Bradley is in his final 5-
UAB
Oregon State
DePaul
Loyola
Bradley

It is interesting to see 3 of the 5 schools are in Illinois. From what I had read Loyola and Bradley have not had official visits. I wonder if Bradley will receive an official visit. I have not seen him play but reviews would have him as a major recruit for Bradley.

More than one recruiting expert is reporting that he will visit all 5 schools before he decides.

Terrible news for one of Bradley's top recruits. Christian Negron had narrowed his choices to 5 schools, including Bradley. He had gained weight and gotten stronger, and was looking forward to a great senior season at Elgin Larkin HS.
But today, it was reported that he has torn his ACL, and will miss his entire senior season. Tough luck for Christian.

Sun Times article about Christian Negron's injury just posted

Surgical repair of an ACL tear these days almost always results in an excellent outcome. But it can take from 6 to 12 months. I would love to see Bradley stay on Negron, honor their offer and have him come to Bradley and redshirt next season if he is still not 100% ready by then to start the 2017-18 season.

I agree. His style of play sounds like it would be a great addition to the team we have now.

Excellent Chance For BU To Pick Up Top Talent

Excellent Chance For BU To Pick Up Top Talent

Shame Christian Negron damaged his knee. Hopefully he will be able to fully recover.

Agree with others, if BU was high on him pre-injury, they should aggressively continue to pursue Christian for their program. An opportunity to pick up a higher tier recruit vs other schools.

BU is in no hurry to have Christian on active roster and can afford to wait for him to recover via redshirt season.

I agree with you 100%! I hope this helps our chances of having him sign with Bradley. I wonder that higher tier schools will now have less interest in Christian.

Chicago Tribune article about Christian Negron-

Note that according to the Chicago Tribune article above, it is reported that Negron was scheduled to make an official visit to Bradley this weekend. No word on whether he will still come, or when he might have surgery.

It is now being reported that Christian Negron was not scheduled to make a visit to Bradley this weekend as was reported by the Tribune.
