In Coach Andrea Gorski's first season (2016-17) she recorded a 12-19 overall record and 7-11 in the MVC. That was a significant improvement over the previous several seasons. They finished the season at the MVC Tournament by clobbering Loyola 57-42, then losing to the #2 tournament seed UNI.

It has been 5 years since the previous administration informed Paula Buscher her contract would not be renewed and she was forced out.
Coach Buscher had 3 winning seasons in her final 4 years at Bradley, which no previous Bradley coach had done in over 35 years. Plus, the Bradley women made their only 2 postseason appearances in the program's history under Coach Buscher.

Then after Coach Buscher was forced out, here are the Bradley women's teams records in the 4 years after she left under the new coach, despite the hiring of what the former AD claimed was the best and most qualified coach available-
2012-13 14-16, 8-10
2013-14 _8-22, 5-13
2014-15 _6-24, 5-13
2015-16 _9-22, 4-14

The team's MVC record worsened each year as the players left over from Paula Buscher left. And it would have been worse had Creighton not left the MVC in 2013. Of course, the failed leadership at Bradley claimed the fans were not patient enough and they just needed more time, even though the fact was that the new coach had taken over a winning program, and it got worse every year!

Thank goodness for the leadership of the Bradley Board of Trustees, Jim Shadid and Doug Stewart, who finally made the moves that needed to be made with the women's program as they did for the men's program a year earlier. And thank goodness Chris Reynolds made the changes that needed to be made and hired Coach Gorski a year ago.

In Coach Gorski's first season this past year, the team improved significantly to 12-19, and 7-11 in the MVC.....more MVC wins than any team in 4 years.
And they were improved in almost every offensive and defensive category.
So it looks like the team is now finally headed in the right direction. They lost only 1 senior to graduation, and 12 of the top 13 scorers and rebounders are eligible to return next season.
In addition, the team added 3 quality recruits in the fall signing period-

And they added 3 more in the April signing period-

...although one of those spring signees, 5-7 guard Shunseere Kent, is not yet listed on the 2017-18 roster page, so it's not clear whether she will be part of next season's team.

Meanwhile, for the record, Coach Buscher has had success in her 5 seasons at SIUE. She has had winning conference records in 4 of her 5 seasons there. She has built SIUE into an annual Ohio Valley Conference contender, including finishing 2nd, 3rd, and 3rd in the OVC the past 3 years.

The Bradley women's team gets a commit from 2018 recruit Aannah Interrante of Johnsburg HS, Johnsburg, Illinois. She is a 5'10" shooting guard who averaged 15.7 ppg as a junior. She was named the 2017 Northwest Herald Girls Basketball Player of the Year, and helped lead her high school to their second straight Class 3A girls basketball regional championship and a perfect season in the Kishwaukee River Conference.

She had 91 3-pointers and also averaged 2.4 steals and 2 assists a game.

There is word that 2017 junior college commit Shunseere Kent, who is still not yet added to the 2017-18 Bradley women's roster page, is headed to Bradley after graduating from East Georgia State College.
She should help strengthen the backcourt next season for Coach Gorski.
