Northwestern fired Head Coach Bill Carmody today. Reports are the top 2 targets to replace him are Chris Collins and Bryce Drew.

Interesting -
so Nate Taphorn isn't all that solid on Northwestern now that Carmody's been fired..
maybe we can hire Carmody as a post-grad assistant or academic coordinator??

There could even be more fallout - here's a story on several players - even including the best players currently at Northwestern - Crawford & Cobb - even wavering..

Drew Crawford - a one time BU recruit like Cobb - is going to be a post-grad student and could transfer & be immediately eligible
Alex Olah, their big man, would be a great addition and Geno knows him because he's from TPA

Northwestern's other TOP incoming recruit Jared Sina has already asked for his release...Nate Taphorn is still considering his options...

uh oh ... after verballing to Alabama - then changing and verballing to Northwestern, then changing again and choosing Seton Hall.....
now Jared Sina is leaving Seton Hall and looking to transfer..

in a double OT game last night vs. Michigan - multiple Northwestern players were gassed - playing nearly 50 minutes,
yet Nate Taphorn got just 5 minutes of playing time -
while head coach Chris Collins played three freshmen - all somewhat similar players to Nate ( Vic Law (38 minutes), Bryant Mcintosh (27 minutes), and Scott Lindsey (17 minutes)) more than that....
I think Nate needs to find a place that would greatly appreciate his talent...

BTW - wanna laugh??

Here's a guy who says Northwestern is a dark horse to WIN IT ALL in the Big Ten Conference Tournament...and head to the NCAA!!

I will take that bet even at 1 to 1000!

I think that's a possibility
