Chasson Randle to Stanford

I heard they just got some commit over the weekend (shaw?) and Randle might have turned into an afterthought... could be wrong on that though...

Since I have no life......Randle was to commit at 5 pm but did at 4......

Shaw is announcing tomorrow at 3pm......and it is rumored that he will choose illinois

We all thought Randle was more certain than Shaw....

Illinois backup is a 6'7" PG......PG from alabama...Devin Langford. Who is visiting this weekend.

I don't hope Randle regrets his decision......but when Illinois is a top five team going deep in March....I hope he does.

Rumor now is that Bruce Weber was confident enough he'd land Randle that he doesn't have a legitimate backup. Watch for him to turn his attention to Ryan Boatright, who just decommitted from West Virginia.

I am pretty sure Langford has been the back up for awhile. He plays the point too.

But Look at them to go NUTS after Boatright.

He would be the perfect fit. A TRUE PG.

All the leaves are brown, and the sky is gray (at Illinois)
Chasson Randle decided to walk
Cause he couldn't stand another winter's day!

He'd be safe and warmer
if he could be living by the Bay
California Dreamin'
on such a winter's day

Stopped into the Cardinal gym
He visited along the way
Well, he got down on his knees
and he began to pray

He knew the Cardinal's needed a guard
and that he could really play

If he didn't have to tell Webber
He'd have left today

Apologies to Mammas and the Poppas

So no recruit that ever was offered by Stanford....chose another school because they had a better basketball team?

Name another school with the academic excellence offered by Stanford, the number of Olympians and to boot a gorgeous campus. If they go somewhere else it has nothing to do with what I just mentioned. I could never blame a kid for choosing Stanford over any other. In other words you can't go wrong. Oh did I mention all the Nobel prize winners, Supreme Court Justices and I can go on.

Hey -- as prestigious as Stanford is in this regard -- believe it or NOT they don't hold any advantage over University of Illinois!!

U of I has 21 different Nobel Prize winners among their alumni and faculty!! (Stanford has a mere 16!)
also -- Illinois has 20 Pulitzer winners (Stanford has only four!!)
also --more than 2 dozen Illinois grads became University Presidents - and the honors go on and on and more than equal or exceed those of Stanford!!
.... AND they have Hugh Hefner...

So brag all you want about Stanford, but I have yet to see anything more than just opinion that they are any better than Illinois...so show some facts...

They hold a HUGE advantage over U of I, maybe not in pure Nobel Laureates or pulltizers. But this should say enough...

Look at #13. U of I? #63. U of I is lower in the other polls.

but as I said -- that's just based on OPINION...and everyone's welcome to theirs...
Those "scores" they base it on are largely just what people think....I gave numbers and facts...

When I go to get a job or go to grad school the OPINION of my school, is exactly what I care about. If I need to, I can go get the starting salaries and acceptance rates of Stanford grads vs. U of I grads...

BTW, proportionately Stanford has more Nobel Laureates than U of I seeing as U of I has 50% more faculty (and yet they have 150% more students... giving Stanford students much better access to said faculty).

Stanford MBA - #3 in Starting Salary.

U of I doesn't crack the top 40.

http://officialmbaguide.org/top40.php?rnk=salary

Standford - #7 Overall Mid-Career Salary

U of I - Somewhere around 65

Stanford - #12 Overall Starting Salary

U of I - Somewhere around 55

Same site.

Facts enough?
