CUBS close to deals.....

The trading of Marquis will dump some salary. Trading of DERO will jump salary (miles was signed for less the dero made)... and Dero gets us 3 pitching prospects to send to SD for Peavy.... the wheels are in motion!!!

Kinda sad in a way to see Mark DeRosa go....but I hope lou and Hendry know more than I...here is the link...http://

Redbird, you may be on to something here.... I am just getting back into following baseball. But as things stand currently, we get virtually the same player with Miles... Miles looks to be a better hitter with fewer strikeouts... and Miles has pitched a couple of innings in his career.;-)
--then throw in the three pitchers---- team chemistry may be another question, but imo, so far so good....

I say he turns out like Dennis Rodman when he came to the Bulls...he really wanted to come here so I think he will work out....and I really like his bat! :D

I understand your point and I agree to an extent that we could use a player with an attitude, but when was the last time Milton Bradley played a full season as an everyday player? Last year he was mainly a dh and I believe he played approximately 20 or so games as a position player.... If the Cubs were an American League team, I would be all for signing Milton Bradley....

Johnny Evers didnt talk to Joe Tinker for over a year...well that was over a hundred years ago......

I'm not sold on MB yet. There are ALOT of hot heads on the cubs (Big Z, Ramirez, Soriano). It should be interesting to see how that all pans out. Hopefully MB's knees stay good and his bat puts up in the fall.

Seeing Derosa go is bitter sweet. He has been one of my favorite players for the past few seasons. He's never cocky, always level headed, a solid all around baseball player.

looking forward to baseball already
very excited for the cubs, should be another hyped up season...hopefully with a happier ending
