The press conference was covered like it was the president, and message boards in Illinois, Indiana, and Memphis were recording all-time highs.

Derrick Rose's teammates at Chicago Simeon spoke first
6'6" forward Kevin Johnson announced he would attend Wisconsin-Milwaukee
6'5" forward Tim Flowers also has announced for Wisconsin-Milwaukee
And the long awaited announcement by Derrick Rose-- he will attend Memphis.

Nearly 7000 people logged onto the Indiana message boards--

UWM, which had been guard heavy, is now very heavy with power forwards too. I am not sure where will get all the scholarships they have promised.

UWM now has 4 scholarships tied up for 2007 (PF Flowers, PF Johnson, PF Anthony Hill, and G Deonte Roberts).
They also got a transfer from Oklahoma State, 6'6"power forward Torre Johnson, who was a 1st team juco All American, and was kicked off the team at Oklahoma and will be a senior next year after he sits out a year.

And they got 3 other transfers just prior to this season --

And they added yet another Power Forward transfer over the summer, 6'9" Sam Mauldin, who left Birminham Southern when they dropped to Division III. He will be eligible immediately and have 2 years of eligibility.

They list 19 players on their roster now, with only 2 who will be seniors this year and one of them has been a walkon his entire career.--

The reason for mentioning all this is that at least 2 of the kids Bradley had been recruiting for 2007 were also being recruited by UWM- Dwight Buycks and Montrel Clark.
Don't know what that means for Bradley.

In a small bit of basketball news--

Kevin Johnson, a former player for Chicago Simeon High School last year, will not be enrolling at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as planned. He apparently did not qualify and will be attending Mineral Area Community College in Missouri.--

The article also suggests that Johnson's former teammate at Simeon, Tim Flowers (a former BU recruit) may also be attending Mineral Area juco. If so, this would be a huge blow to Rob Jeter's fine recruiting class at UW-M, to lose his top 2 recruits. And there are rumors that even more of the UW-M roster may not qualify for the upcoming season.

They also lost their best long range shooter when Ryan Thornton left and transferred to Bradley.
Anyway, I don't feel sorry for Rob Jeter. He was the first to be offered the Iowa State head coaching job, and turned it down.
Iowa State then went after McDermott.

Wow, Harv and Roy at ilprepbullseye really don't seem to like Lewis Jackson.
Does he have pictures of their mother, or what? Very unprofessional.
