That was a lot of words to say what we all know, that there should be more mid-majors in the tournament, and there are probably better and fairer ways to make selections than the way the NCAA uses. However, some of the author's recommended metrics for selecting teams seem even more crazy than what's used now, and would never be accepted by the Power 5/6 Conferences.
His final suggestion of simply expanding the field to 96 makes the most sense. The big schools would still fight it, since it would dilute the revenues going to them, but IMO it's the fairest of the options.
