Exhibition really games get started this weekend but there were a couple last night..

Iowa beat Sioux Falls 99-73. Game was close for the first half, and was tied until about 30 seconds before halftime.
Former Bradley recruit Christian Williams had 3 points - fans on their message boards said he looked good but there is talk
on the Iowa message board tho that he is one of the most likely candidates to redshirt.

The crowd was listed as 11381 but described as "sparse"

South Dakota State beat South Dakota College of Mines 72-43

In one other exhibition - IPFW had their Mastodon Madness - but strangely they had no scrimmage, no intrasquad game...
they just did...
"a dunk contest, a head-to-head three-point contest, a team three-point competition, performances from the cheerleaders, and music from the pep band."

They have a photo galley and Bradley transfer Xzavier Taylor can be seen participating in activities..

There were at most 3,000 people at the game. But exhibitions are always poorly attended.

Christian Williams will likely not redshirt unless something dramatic changes in the next two weeks. He's penciled in as their starting PG next year and want to get him game experience this year. At 6'7 he is going to be an interesting PG project.

Iowa will need to redshirt at least 1 or 2 as there is a freshman walk on who turned down several MVC-level schools and has played his way into the rotation, meaning some of the 6 scholarship freshmen won't be playing much at all.

Seton Hall is gonna struggle again...
they played an exhibition against D-III Baruch College and barely squeaked by 84-79, after trailing most of the entire game
Seton Hall gave up 12-18 on 3-pointers

Northern Iowa wins their first exhibition 70-50 against Truman State
Bohannon 15, Freidman 10, Washun 9, Aarias Austin 8

Keiser University lost to University of Vermont 78-67
Stefan Zecevic had a 8 pts, 4 rebs for Keiser

Kentucky's first exhibition game is tonight - get ready for immediate proclamations by all the gurus just like last year
that they are so good that they are unbeatable and will win the National Championship

UK is already ahead 38-8 less than 10 minutes into the game vs Canadian opponent Ottawa

Kentucky ends up winning 117-58

Siena beat Indiana (PA) - Brett Bisping had 16
Indiana (PA) was the DII National runnerup last year

Sunday Ill St scrimmaged St Louis. All reports seem to say ISU won each of the three 10 minute sessions. Sounds like the loss of Lynch will actually make the Birds play faster. St Louis fans seem less then impressed with the reports stating how they looked.

Thx mvcfan, Saint Louis is kinda rebuilding - they lost everyone in 2014 then struggled in 2014-15, and only have a couple proven scorers returning this year...
they will be pretty much all freshmen and sophomores this year.

Kentucky actually played Ottawa University from Ottawa Kansas, not the one from Canada. Indiana plays the one from Canada tonight.

Indiana beats Ottawa in their exhibition..82-54 but...
....Indiana's lead was ..."just six points with 9:13 remaining in the game."

former Bradley recruiting target- Max Bielfeldt played 39 minutes according to the box score
and scored 8 pts and grabbed 8 rebounds
All the starters played most of the game and the attendance was reported as over 17,000

Auburn needs overtime to squeak by Univ. of Indianapolis 114-109 - same team that Valparaiso just beat by 8

Clemson needed double OT to beat Lenoir-Rhyne 87-84

More exhibition upsets and near-upsets-

Murray State, a 27 game winner last season, lost tonight in their exhibition opener 87-85 in OT to one of the most obscure NAIA schools in the country, Freed-Hardeman.
http://www.goracers.com/boxscore.aspx?path=mbball&id=4277

Amazing to see that one of the Murray State starters played 40 minutes, and another played 39 minutes, so they were desperately trying to win this game. No Freed-Hardeman player played more than 31 minutes.

And as posted, both Auburn and Clemson played Division II cupcakes, and were taken to overtime before finally squeaking out wins.
Auburn 114 Indianapolis 109 in OT

Clemson 87 Lenoir-Rhyne 84 in 2OT
Clemson played only 8 players, and three of them played over 40 minutes, including one starter who played 47 minutes in an exhibition!

Another upset in exhibition games tonight (Fri. 11/6)-
Augustana beat Iowa in Iowa City tonight 76-74-
http://www.cstv.com/gametracker/lau...ool=cbs&sport=mbaskbl&camefrom=&startschool=&

The Augustana that won at Iowa tonight is not the same Augustana that beat Bradley last year. Bradley was beaten by the D3 Augustana College from Rock Island, Illinois.
Augustana University beat Iowa tonight- they are a D2 school from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They are still a good team. They went 31-3 last year and 20-2 in the Northern Star Intercollegiate Conference, finishing 1st in the Southern Division.
They were the near-unanimous #1 pick in the NSIC preseason poll for 2015-16.

a couple more scores

Loyola beats Lewis in exhibition play 75-65 - with only 1088 in attendance!!!
Milton Doyle had 21, as Loyola got extremely little production off the bench...and using a 4-guard offense was outrebounded by Lewis.
Manual's Jeff White played just 11 minutes off the bench - scoreless- seems he's been substantially demoted in their rotation!
Loyola was only 5-20 from the arc and also shot FTs poorly - wonder if their local press ripped them up??

Western Kentucky 75 - Kentucky Wesleyan 68
Ex-BU recruit Chris Harrison-Docks had 21 for WKU
Ex-Bradley center JERMAINE MORGAN started for Kentucky Wesleyan and had a bad game - he was scoreless, grabbed only one rebound, but did pick up four fouls and two turnovers
KWU fans are finding out what Bradley fans already know.

Michigan 74 - LeMoyne 52
Ex-BU assistant Patrick Beilein (who coaches LeMoyne) loses to his father John Beilein

Portland State 101 - Lewis & Clark 85
Ex-BU pg Donivine Stewart had 5 pts, 5 asst and made his only two shots in 20 min.
PSU's Cameron Forte had 32 on 16-20!!

Augustana of South Dakota 76 - Iowa 74
ex-BU recruit Christian Williams was scoreless after netting 3 pts in the prior exhibition

Future BU opponent Boise State beat Northwest 79-55
Paris Austin with 18, James Webb III 17
Despite leading by 21 just 12 minutes or so into the game and then blowing the lead out to 30-32 points most of the rest of the way and never dropping under a 20-pt lead in the 2nd half- for some strange reason in this exhibition the Boise State coach played only 3 guys more than a single minute off the bench and all the starters played heavy minutes - up to 35 minutes per game.

Creighton beat Upper Iowa 113-77
former BU recruit Alex O'Neill from Peoria Christian HS had 3 pts but played just 2 minutes

St. Thomas - the same team that beat St. John's a couple nights ago 90-58, just got clobbered by Rhode Island 100-77
I guess that makes Rhode Island 55 points better than St. John's

Kentucky 111 - Kentucky State 58

Ex-Bradley recruit Brady Ernst actually played 6 minutes in Iowa State's 106-60 exhibition win over Grand Valley St.
I think he will still redshirt - but he had 2 pts, 2 reb and 3 fouls in his 6 min

VCU beat California of PA 96-60 with current BU recruit Marquell Fraser in attendance on recruiting visit. There are rumors he might commit.

Wichita State plays their lone exhibition tomorrow agains the Hawaii Pacific Sharks - but Fred Van Vleet will not play,
he is injured - hamstring...

two former Bradley recruits that are now freshmen at UIC starred in UIC's exhibition win over Lake Forest College 73-60

Dikembe Dixson (former teammate in Kentucky of AJ Youngman) 12 pts, 6 reb
Dominique Matthews 17 pts/6 rebs

future BU opponent ARIZONA won their exhibition game Sunday...
they beat Chico State 90-54 in front of 14,268 and there weren't many empty seats!

The final score is a real blowout but the score was 47-37 with 14:27 to play in the 2nd half, when Chico kinda collapsed.
If there's a weakness, Arizona only shot 2-13 from 3-pt range (15%)

We gave them a good game for awhile. I should have sent Coach Wardle a scouting report.
