WSU was 25-10 last season and 14-6 in the Pac 12 under former coach Kyle Smith. They played in the NCAA Tournament as an at-large team, and lost in the 2nd round. Kyle Smith was hired away by Stanford, and WSU hired Eastern Washington head coach David Riley. 4 of his players from Eastern Washington transferred to play for him at Washington State, and he did the rest of a near-complete roster rebuild with portal transfers and new recruits.
WSU won Monday night (Nov. 4) to start this season 1-0, with a 100-92 win over Portland State of the Big Sky Conference.

WSU is a member of the West Coast Conference this year after spending the last 56 years in the Pac 12, formerly the Pac 10 & Pac 8 .
They were picked 5th in the 11-team WCC Preseason Poll - https://wccsports.com/news/2024/10/...2024-25-wcc-mens-basketball-championship.aspx
Bradley will play 2 other members of the WCC this seaso, Santa Clara and San Francisco.
WSU Historical record - https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/washington-state/men/

Bradley has only played Washington State twice before, in 1939 and 1943. Both games were in Peoria, and both were well before WSU joined the Pac 8 Conference in 1968 and before Bradley became a member of the MVC. Washington State won both games.

a couple trivia question while waiting for Friday night...

- name the team and the year and at least 2 of the players in this photo ---> https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GNTJ6ypW4AAc_m1?format=jpg&name=small

- what MVC basketball player's father was the head coach of Washington State?

- Name this man who coached at BOTH ISU and Bradley - https://hoopdirt.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/platt-690x340.jpg

Ill take a stab at the first question...but it's a guess

1977 IWU

Jack Sikma and Coach Mo?

you guys are good!
Yes, the first picture is of several players from Illinois Wesleyan 1976-77.
The giveaway for any fan from Illinois obviously, is the tall blonde guy, Jack Sikma.
In the bright yellow sweater to the far right in back is Jim Molinari.
And yes, Jake Eastman's father Kevin Eastman was, at one time, the head coach of Washington State.
I added a 3rd question, anyone got a guess? It is not Rob Judson.

It prob won't help, but here's a photo of the same guy back when he was playing college ball
Everybody seemed to have a lot of hair back then-
jzlMhm

One more funny thing, just to prove he doesn't age at all, for 17 yrs Jim Molinari has used the exact same photo
using PhotoShop, to represent him on his bio page from WIU, Nebraska, Oklahoma & Boston College
2008–2014 Western Illinois
2014–2019 Nebraska
2019–2021 Oklahoma
2021–present Boston College

Platt was not a selection of Jim Les', he was brought in via a weird plan that Glasser had to force out Les' assistants (Eric Buescher, Alvin Brooks)
and re-engineer the staff herself. If you recall, Platt was actually a really good guy but not JL's choice at all, and he brought with him one of his own players
when he was hired here. The following season, the entire staff was fired. Truly the most bizarre set of circumstances in the history of DI sports.

I vaguely remember that now....who was the player?

It was a 2010-11 freshman Andrew Davis, a player that Jim Platt had recruited in his job as an assistant at Army, prior to coming to Bradley - https://bradleybraves.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/andrew-davis/8903
He redshirted and never played for Bradley. He left after the one season he was at Bradley.

I figured it would've been him looking back at that roster...wonder what ever became of him
