Ford was the only coach offered!

Interesting. If true, that's great news. I just really hope it doesn't prove to be false.

That'd would make things extremely interesting.

if you have "legal" understanding then this statement can mean more than one thing...

we know he wasn't the only person called, nor interviewed, not even discussed terms...

so perhaps he's the only one that got far enough along to have a hard copy of a contract placed in front of him..thus fitting Dr. Cross' definition of the "only on offered the job"...
either way -- each can believe as they want, but why did Dr. C even put that comment into his statements when everyone knows we are 3 weeks into a process and several other candidates have turned Bradley down???
I think it's just careful word parsing and spin.......but so what -- let's move on........

Why would Cross say it publicly if it was false?

I really like Cross, I genuinely do. But I think he is splitting hairs on this one and he may end up with egg on his face. He may not have 'offered' meaning a contract put in front of someone, but I find it VERY hard to believe he did not say to at least Jeter 'if BU were to offer you XXX...' etc. In my experience negotiating job offers, I didn't get an offical offer until the negotiation was done. I hope Cross isn't using a technicallity to save face, if so, it could haunt him (hopefully not).

Everyone likes to say, "how can we know this report is true" etc...

Well if Cross says he was the only guy offered the job, I will take him at his word.

According to Cross:

Geno Ford was the only coach offered the BU job!

Very interesting to hear.

Interesting indeed.

I feel surprising vindicated.

Does this mean that the PJStar actually got it right? While I think they are crazy for trying to charge for online access...they didn't add to the rumors, kept their noses pretty clean, and now have the opportunity to start off on the right foot with a new coach.

Also, I'm wondering if we'll hear any criticisms of all the "national" folks that got this wrong.

Does this mean that the PJStar actually got it right? ...

got what right?? they have gotten less right than a few on this message board...they've also retracted half of what they've reported as well..

BTW -- the very first mention of Geno Ford's name anywhere in the PJS was Sunday night -- and he was being discussed as possible since Saturday elsewhere and reported here

LOL. Really? It may be factually correct in that he's the only person who was given a contract to sign - but this is semantics and Cross is only fooling fools.

I am certain there were others who were contacted and expressed no interest, or who turned down the job, fwiw.

No, I do not think it does. But note who it was that made an issue of it.

Yes.
