In what appears to be the first of this year's foreign pre-season exhibition games,

future Bradley opponent Washington State plays three games in UK & Spain
LINK
However- there doesn't appear to be much coverage but they did win their first game in England vs "Hoopsfix Select"
altho no stats.

Colorado, on a tour of Australia, has already played three games.
They started with a win over Hoop City Training Academy, 92-82, then a won over the Gold Coast Rollers of the Australian NBL.
Today they lost to an exhibition squad of the Australian Senior National Team 93-87
(the Aussies were without many of their best players like Josh Giddey but Colorado hung with them the whole way.
They have one more exhibition game to play on their tour.

Cornell leaves today for a tour in Italy
Indiana heads to Puerto Rico for 3 games Aug. 5
Nevada heads to the Bahamas for 2 games on Aug 2, and Aug 4
James Madison plays two games in Spain
There doesn't seem to be as many foreign tours this year. NCAA has allowed open exhibition games against other DI's.

Bobby Knight was a pretty crazy dude. I always thought he was the biggest jerk in the world when he was coaching Indiana, but I kinda liked him when he took to broadcasting. Still, the guy definitely had some issues.

I wonder if the days of international exhibition for mid-major programs is ending in light of extremely tight fiscal budgets?

The first of the 3 games Murray State will be playing in the Bahamas is this morning at 10:00 am Central time. They will play the University of Calgary

Article about the Murray State team and their Bahamas trip- https://www.racerbasketball.com/p/racers-ready-for-first-exhibition
Link to YouTube free live stream of the game today-

The University of Calgary Dinos have several new players this season, but last year's team was 28-7 overall, and 16-4 in their conference. They won the postseason Canada West Playoffs, then made it to the championship game of the U-Sports Final 8, the Canadian version of the NCAA Elite 8. But they lost in the championship game of the U-Sports Final to the University of Victoria, which ironically was one of the teams they beat in the Canada West Playoffs.

They play again tomorrow (8/5/25) against a team named Bahamas Raw Talent Elite (game 2 video stream link) and a third game on Wednesday (8/6/25) against Bahamas Select (game 3 video stream link).

For the record, the last preseason foreign trip that Bradley made was in July-August, 2018 with games in London on 7/29/18 against the Surrey Scorchers and in Amsterdam on 8/3/18 against a team named Amsterdam Select.
Here is a thread that covered that trip and the two games. The discussion of the games starts midway on page 3-
https://bradleyfans.com/threads/bradley-summer-foreign-tour-to-london-amsterdam.27963/

Some might recall that we actually were able to post a link to a live stream of the Bradley-Amsterdam game so fans could watch. We arranged for Luuk van Bree's sister to stream the live video on her Facebook page as she held her camera up and shot video of the game.
The NCAA allows teams to make one of these foreign preseason tours once every 5 years, so since Bradley's last trip was now 7 years ago, they are overdue for another one. Maybe next season?

Murray State's starters are-
Ben Shtolzberg, JJ Traynor, former Bradley recruiting target KJ Tenner, Coach's son Mason MIller, and Fred King.

Miller (1.1ppg) and King (2.7ppg) are transfers from Creighton, Tenner is a 2.7ppg transfer from WVU, Shtolzberg is a 3.8ppg UC-Santa Barbara transfer, and Traynor is a 5.6ppg transfer from DePaul.
It'll be interesting to see who steps up to become their reliable scorers.

The game is being streamed -

the opponent, Calgary is pretty woeful, no size, airballs galore....
Murray State leads at half 56-28. Could be that Murray State might be good, but nobody Calgary has can stop Fred King from simply dunking the whole first half.

update... Murray State giving their starters a good workout. They are up by 32 points in the 2nd half with all the starters still in..

edit-- Murray State's starters finally got a rest and the last 15 min were played by their subs who did not look good.
Calgary actually outscored Murray State 49-47 in the 2nd half, and 43-32 over those final 15 minutes.
No doubt their big guy Fred King could be good, although most of his points were minimally challenged dunks.
Their two low post guys, Miller & King combined for 1-6 from 3-pt.
Miller, who was 1-5, hit 17% last year, King was 0-1 - but he's never even drained one in his 3-year career at Creighton.
The rest of the team was a decent 8-21 (38%) against Calgary's soft defense.
Here's an example of the type of play that occurred over and over - a completely UNGUARDED guy simply waltzes into the lane and dunks unopposed- LINK

Murray State ran out to a big lead and extended it throughout the game to as much as 37 points to win easily 103-77 over the University of Calgary. Murray State looked pretty good overall. They were quick, passed well, and got a ton of easy shots inside. The one thing that might be a weak point was their starters did not shoot the three point shot very well, despite mostly open shots. The starters were 3-10, but overall the team ended the game 9-27 (33.3%) from three because their reserves hit a few threes late when Calgary was playing their bench. Calgary was bothered by Murray State's pressure defense, which resulted in 15 turnovers before the Racers called off the pressure. Calgary had a couple decent players, but not much size, and they had trouble setting up their offense. I'm not sure any of their players were D1 caliber. Overall I would compare their quality to a Division 3 team.
The Racers' leading scorer was their big center Fred King, who transferred from Creighton. He pretty much had his way inside and was 9-13 and 5-6 on FTs for 27 points. He also had 11 rebounds as Murray dominated inside and outrebounded Calgary 44-23. Second chance points were 19-0 in favor of Murray, and Points in the Paint were 58-32 in favor of Murray.

Fred King is going to be a really good Valley player.
He looked very good today, 23 points and 11 rebounds. But I think all of them were right at the basket, many of them putbacks. He's built like Illinois State's Chase Walker, but I didn't think he moved as well or was as quick as Walker. I think his numbers were more due to the weak Calgary defense especially inside, and he will not get those kind of numbers in the MVC. Did anyone else watch the game?
Their next 2 games in the Bahamas won't likely be much different though, as they play teams made up of local club players.

almost a completely different starting five today for Murray State-
Fred King, Layne Taylor, Brayden Shorter, Javon Jackson, Lachlan Crate

Here's the link to watch the stream - they are playing a Bahamas club team (Raw Talent Elite)
The club team has a 15 year old kid who looks to be about 7-feet tall and fairly talented.
He is the younger brother of Kansas' Dwight Coleby

Here's the link to live stats but currently its not working - https://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=592883&vislive=must

update....
This Bahamas team hung close for 10 minutes but now Murray State is taking advantage of a lot of turnovers and sloppy play by Bahamas,
and with 7 minutes left in the first half, the score is 34-20.
Yesterday, Nevada beat this same Bahamas team 103-28, they resemble an uncoached bunch of random guys in a pickup game at the "Y".

Murray State plays their final game tomorrow against University of Calgary again - here's the link to watch Wednesday- LINK

Here is the Box score from today's game- Murray State vs. Bahamas Raw Talent Elite

Murray State will play one more game in the Bahamas tomorrow. Originally it was scheduled to be against a team labelled Bahamas Select. However, there was apparently a problem getting enough players to play for that team, so Murray is now scheduled to play another game against University of Calgary tomorrow, at 10:00 am.
Live stream link here-

Indiana is in Puerto Rico to play 3 games starting tomorrow - LINK

The last time Indiana's head coach played in Puerto Rico, there was a major international incident that still gets discussed 46 years later

Murray State with another game this morning vs University of Calgary - and it's a comeplete blowout...
MSU looks very good but hard to tell how good, since the opponents are so bad.
Easy drives to the basket allowed over and over... racing to an early 30 point lead....
bad shots, clanked layups and terrible lazy passes by Calgary..
Calgary is just 6-30 overall and 1-15 from 3-point.
Halftime score Murray State 51 - Calgary 21
