In the past few days many major schools have released their schedules, and it seems the TOP BCS guys are scheduling more and more patsies at home than ever before!
Here are some examples of nearby BCS guys and the load of laughable opponents they are filing their slates with...I know they each play a couple of marquee non-conference opponents, but they sure do load up with cupcakes...

Arkansas -- Grambling, FGCU, UAB, Mississippi Valley State, Texas Southern, NC A&T, Texas-Arlington, Florida A&M..and they call this "a difficult schedule"..

Wisconsin -- UW-La Crosse, Minnesota State-Mankato, Prairie View A&M, North Dakota, Manhattan, South Dakota, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Green Bay, Coppin State..and they're virtually all at home

Illinois -- UC-Irvine, Toledo, SIU, Yale, Western Michigan, Oakland, Northern Colorado, UIC

Indiana -- and note than they call this a "daunting schedule"..."challenging"....
come on...get serious...
Florida Gulf Coast, Wright State, Mississippi Valley State, Evansville, North Carolina Central, Northwestern State, Savannah State, SIUE, South Carolina State -- then UNI in Las Vegas...
Their ACC matchup is Boston College - who should be at the bottom of their league just like IU.
 
Take UAB out of the cupcake column for Arkansas, it looks silly, but the rest of their schedule is quite terrible.

Wisconsin earns a semi-pass from me with 2 in-states in there that they almost always play. UI to a lesser extent as there's 2 in-states in there too.

I'm not really sure what Crean in Indiana is trying to do with that schedule.
 
this kind of a schedule backfired badly on a mid-major coach - Tim Jankovich, so it sure won't help a BCS team unless they finish in the top 3 or 4 of their conference..
The instant they fall outside the top 4 in the Big Ten then that schedule is the albatross that'll assure they have no chances of an at-large bid.
 
As long as there is no penalty for BCS coaches/schools to play cupcake non cons, they will. If W-L still trumps SOS or playing non con teams at home vs on the road for at large bids or seeding, why not schedule cupcakes at home?

NCAA needs to change the system. Can't bash schools/coaches for following the lead of the NCAA system.

Maybe it's for the good of the conference. RPI formula is 25% your record, 50% Opponents record, 25% opponents opponents record. So everyone has to play Indiana once,twice, maybe even 3 times. If Indiana has a lofty non-con record of something like 10-2.... that will help the other teams in the conference when they beat them. So when Indiana finishes with a record 15-15.... that's better for the other B10 teams than finishing 9-21. :lol:
