Howard Moore hires his first assistant- Donnie Kirksey

Donnie Kirskey has been an assistant previously at Chicago State and DePaul, and for the past 3 seasons he has coached at Chicago Hyde Park High School, where he has produced a record of 71-18.
It might be more than a coincidence that a former star player under Kirksey at Hyde Park, Fabyon Harris (2010 grad), just requested a release from his LOI at Houston, and is now back in Chicago looking for a new school to enroll at. I don't know if this might fall under the NCAA's new rule about hiring someone who has connections to a kid you are recruiting, but I won't be surprised to see Harris at UIC.
Unlike the situation at DePaul, where Oliver Purnell was hired over a number of candidates with strong Chicago connections, and several assistants from Chicago were also let go, UIC appears to be putting all their efforts in rebuilding their Chicago recruiting connections. In the past few years, former UIC coach Jimmy Collins had only 1 or 2 scholarship players on his roster each year who were from Chicago, despite being known as a great recruiter and having the richest talent base at his doorstep.
