U of I is just now getting serious about finding out what really happened - instead of stalling and denying everything

Tough times for University of Illinois from the state funding to the athletic department. This week Univ of Ill was named the Number 1 party school in the country. Not what you want to be number one verses other institutions.

more interesting news....
University of Illinois officials took a page from the Hillary Clinton playbook of how to dodge getting caught in scandal...

they are now shown to have used private and personal e mails to discuss "sensitive" issues

now we see more on why the Chancellor resigned - but then why do the taxpayers have to pay her a $400,000 BONUS?
Man..I'm in the wrong profession...shoulda gone to work running some university - then even if you lie, cheat, and screw up, you still make millions and can negotiate millions more just to go away.

This is probably being done by every school board and town council in the state of Illinois as well. Many are also using private messaging on social media.

anyone wonder what was said in our administration's e mails and private correspondence?
..I can shed some light as I actually have had members of the admin call me about what's said on the message boards - apparently there were those who took comments very seriously

Columnist Mark Tupper says the resignation of the Illinois Chancellor could be a game-changer for all of athletics...

Once a new Chancellor is hired, then he or she would likely want to fill the administrative positions below with those of his or her choosing.

Then - again just as happened the last time a new AD was hired at Illinois - multiple head coaching changes could occur....as the current AD hired new coaches in Men's Basketball, WBB, and Football

"If a new chancellor wants a different AD, many dominos will fall.

Remember what happened when Guenther left and Thomas arrived. Ron Zook and his staff were gone.
Bruce Weber and his staff were gone. Jolette Law and her staff were gone. A number of administrative,
fund raising and support positions turned over.

An AD change can signal a seismic shift and there are plenty of disgruntled Illini fans who have hoped for just such a development."

With the University facing some, widely publicized lawsuits & abuse allegations,
the top dog, Chancellor Phyllis Wise suddenly and unexpectedly resigns - giving less than a week's notice that she's leaving!
http://www.dailyillini.com/article/2015/08/phyllis-wise-stepping-down-as-chancellor
now that the Chancellor is gone 41 of the top executive officers & department chairmen at University of Illinois call for the reinstatement of the professor that the Chancellor booted...

More major news coming out of U of I - oddly not being covered much...

the 2nd in command in Administration at University of Illinois - the Provost, Ilesanmi Adesida suddenly and somewhat unexpectedly resigns as he is apparently caught up in the same secretive scandal of using secret and unauthorized e mails (a la Hillary) ....
"to conduct university business....
and ... Some of those emails were not originally released under public-records requests."

Not April Fools Day, But Close Enough...

Not April Fools Day, But Close Enough...

Les to Illini MBB program as head coach if new Chancellor and new AD want to start over? Wouldn't that be a hoot!!!!

It would be, but that just won't happen. They will throw crazy money at someone who has been a proven winner with a clean program.
Fortunately, it won't be Bradley.

Interesting followup story about the charges of abuse against Loyola women's head coach Sheryl Swoopes. An unprecedented 10 of the 12 players scheduled to return next season have left the Loyola program and transferred, and there have been unusually high numbers of transfers each previous season as well. Most of her assistant coaches have left, too.

Here is one for the "curious timing" file-
After months of saying they supported embattled Loyola women's head coach Sheryl Swoopes in regards to numerous player abuse charges and 10 of the 12 rostered players for 2016-17 leaving the program, the Loyola administration waited until the middle of a holiday weekend, late on a Sunday night to fire her and send her quietly packing.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sport...s-sheryl-swoopes-spt-0704-20160703-story.html

The announcement did not even come from the University administration, or the Athletic Director. It was the University's public relations firm that released the following extremely brief statement attributed to the AD at about 9:00 PM Sunday night and both they and the University refused to reply to any questions about how the decision was reached or what the school discovered during their investigation.-

"Sheryl Swoopes is no longer serving as the women's basketball coach at Loyola University Chicago. A search for her replacement will begin immediately. Loyola thanks Sheryl for her service to the women's basketball program."
