Lineup for Friday?

With Taylor supposedly ready for Friday and Sammy still unable to go what does everyone suppose the lineup will be at the tip?

While I want to go with Taylor, I am guessing Coach will not start him giving his limited practice action...

Therefore I see the same lineup we started the Quincy exhibition with, although I feel Walt should have played himself into more minutes.

Starting lineup or not, I'd like to see these five on the court together sometime during the game...

WL, DSE, TB, WE, JP

But I'd tend to lean towards holding SM and TB out again this early in the season to heal and let the ones that lost the exhibition win this one - might help their confidence. Looking forward to watching the first game of the regular season!

I think it'll be DD, AW, DSE, WE, and JP.

I'd like to see TB and WL come in together after those five are given a chance to do something positive together.

I definitely see JE's and AW's minutes dropping (from the exhibition) to make way for TB to get some game action. I also believe SM will be held out of this particular game.

There are two things that I have against this lineup this year. One, is that there isn't a person to date on that lineup who has shown some consistency to make a three ball. Until DSE can shoot a little better, I would prefer DD with that lineup. That is also a lineup that has very little overall division 1 experience on the floor at the same time. Otherwise, I like that lineup and I think that those players will see a lot of minutes together next year.

DD, DSE, JP, TB and SM/WL Send the message about playing both ends of the court:!:
If Sammy's been going in practice, then he plays:!: This team needs him to get off on the right foot and Sammy is the floor leader that can make this happen:!: How much he plays is not important, this team needs to establish some confidence with a win not a demoralizing loss at home to start the season:!:

Do you think experience translates to wins?

At BU it hasn't so far...

I'll take Prosser's talent over Thompson's experience any day...just saying

I think Les starts:

AW
DSE
Egolf
DD
Prosser

I though would love to play a huge line up if I knew 1) we were going to make an effort to do nothing but put the ball on the block 2) that Thompson was going to contribute on both ends.

AW
DSE
Egolf
Thompson
Prosser

Man if we can get Thompson to contribute it will change the dynamics of this team big time. I really really want Anthony Thompson to turn into a player.

This line-up is a joke right? You saw WE and AT? And you want them on the same court at the same time getting starters minutes? AT starting over DD? WL? JE? Heck, over Jordan Brown?

Dude can you read? I said I would love to play big didnt say that what was going to happen. Everyone would want to play a line up of:

6'10
7ft and 6'9 that would be incredibly disruptive. I also wrote it was depended on Anthony Thompson becoming a player. Settle down just a little amckillip and read what I first wrote and that I just would like to see Bradley play really big.

I am prefectly aware two things Brown and SM when healthy will play along with AW but I really do want our bigs to be able to play together on the court.

The second line up was a dream, but if these three come together well who knows.

IMO For now, I am more comfortable with DD shooting the three in game situations as compared to DSE. That is the difference maker for that lineup as I have zero confidence in WL's outside shot. I think that DSE will develop a nice outside shot. At the start of the year, I would prefer DD, but I can see a case for DSE working his way in this lineup toward the end of this year. One more reason is that if I were an opposing coach, I would throw a zone defense at that lineup as soon as I saw it take the floor!

Woah, you're the one that needs to settle down... I was just saying that couldn't and shouldn't happen. Seriously, I mentioned a walk-on. Chill. If we're dreaming I want SM healthy and in various heights ranging from 6'4" to 7'0"

Pre-game notes for the Kingsville game list the probable starters as

Dodie Dunson

Taylor Brown

Andrew Warren

Dyricus Simms-Edwards

Will Egolf

Is S.M. is not ready to play some on Fri. I think we need to be worried about him because he needs to get game minutes if we expect to get good results out of him, I would think playing 2 games in a row next week might not happen;
My lineup:
DSE
AW
DD
JP
TB
Will is good enough to start but I think you need to send a message to him that he does not start because of the dumb fouls that he commits, Taylor starts if he has been practicing all week, W.L. gets at least 15 minutes, J.E. gets 15 ,like to see A.D. get at least 5 minutes and the other 2 only get in when the game has been decided and hopefully if they do their effort will be much better.

Not me.

The only thing that would be disruptive about playing that lineup is that it would completely disrupt any chance that we have at winning basketball games.

We'd have more blocked shots than the other team and that would be about it.

Do you want Egolf or Thompson chasing a guard around the perimeter on the defensive end?...or we could play zone and watch teams swing the ball around and shoot wide open 3s all day against us...Either way, it would be a disaster.

To win games we need to score on the offensive end and we need to be able to defend the lineups that the other team puts out there...putting Egolf, Prosser, and Sticks on the floor at the same time insures that we will have absolutely no chance of doing either of those things very well...no thanks.

There is still a possibility and a decent one from what I have heard that Sammy may not be ready til the Valley opener if at all this season

I would have to bet that AD is a redshirt.

There are all kinds of medical guesses going around...but another player on the team said that Sammy is going to play tomorrow night...so we'll see...

Why red-shirt him when you have a 7-0 player that will red-shirt next season plus he looks like he could help more then A.T. can.

The redshirt is looking long term, if he can't help much now, why would we waste a season fo eligibility? and the fact we have a guy coming in next year and redshirting doesn't really affect AD. I see nothing wrong having 3 years in a row where we have 6'8"+ redshirt seniors (and there are 2 next year).
