Here are the MVC results (other than the Bradley loss to St. Bonaventure)-

Murray State beat Omaha 85-77- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/boxscore/_/gameId/401826859
Murray State struggled in the first half against lowly Omaha, and at halftime, lead only 34-31. They pulled out to a lead of as much as 18 points in the 2nd half, and held on for the 8 point win. Their big center Fred King did not play. He is apparently nursing a knee injury. Starting point guard K.J. Tenner played only 6 minutes, then left with 0 points and 0 assists and did not return. In the postgame press conference, their coach Ryan Miller said he was in concussion protocol.

Drake trails Northern Arizona 42-51 midway through the 2nd half- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/boxscore/_/gameId/401825586
Note that Northern Arizona was picked 10th out of 10 teams in both the Big Sky Coaches and Media Preseason Polls.

Belmont, UIC, SIU, and Indiana State play tonight.

The Drake game has gone similar to the Bradley game. They fell behind by double digits with some poor shooting, but have come back in the 2nd half and it is now tied 71-71 with 2 minutes left in the game. Can they pull it off?-

More MVC games tonight-
Belmont leads Air Force at halftime 39-38 -

Southern Illinois leads D2 McKendree 24-10 in 1st half-

UIC trails Detroit-Mercy 17-25 in 1st half-

Indiana State at Charlotte - just starting

Charlotte was voted dead last in the 13-member American Athletic Conference....
but they beat Indiana State....92-76, outrebounding the Sycamores 45-24.
Arguably the only bright spot for Indiana State was forward Ian Scott, 6-7 undersized forward transfer from NAIA Grace College
of Winona Lake, IN (1382 undergrad enrollment).
He went 9-10, 24 pts, 11 reb, 3 assists. He also had a double double in their exhibition against Butler - possibly proving
(along with Ben Humrichhous) that the best NAIA and DIII players might be decent recruiting targets for DI schools.

Belmont trailed Air Force (picked last in the Mountain West) early in the 2nd half, but they got hot and pulled away in the final 15 minutes to win 79-63-
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/boxscore/_/gameId/401811965

Top scorer for Belmont was Sam Orme with 21 points. He played 36 minutes.
Tyler Lundblade, who some have anointed as the best 3-point shooter in the country, was 3-8 from three and had 18 points.
But the stat that surprised me a bit was the attendance. This was the opening game of the season, on Belmont's home court, and against a D1 opponent from a decent conference, and the attendance was only 1,715. Prior to Covid, when they were still in the Ohio Valley Conference, they averaged 2,320 (2019-20).

Peoria Notre Dame grad, redshirt freshman Eoin Dillon, who is the brother of former Bradley guard Connor Dillon, saw 5 minutes of action and was scoreless.
