MVC to launch "Revamped website" August 14

Pulled this from Valleytalk, as someone listed this OVC press release, sounds as if they are linking up with the same company that will redo the Valley website. I really hope all games will be available via the internet.

Football and men's and women's basketball games are just some of the events that will be highlighted on the Ohio Valley Conference's new premium Web site, OVCSports.TV, OVC Commissioner Dr. Jon A. Steinbrecher announced Tuesday during the league's annual football media day festivities.

OVCSports.TV, which can be accessed by logging on to the league's official Web site, www.ovcsports.com, provides an enhanced interactive media platform made possible through a partnership with XOS Technologies, a leading provider of sports technology and media solutions to professional and collegiate teams and conferences.

???‚¬?“This is a new and exciting endeavor for the Ohio Valley Conference,???‚¬?? said Steinbrecher. ???‚¬?“Partnering with XOS has made it possible to promote our member institutions and provide them with additional opportunities to reach out to their fans and alumni on a global basis.

???‚¬?“We have been aggressive in pursuing this new medium,???‚¬?? added Steinbrecher, ???‚¬?“and are expecting to be able to offer OVC fans a wide variety of live and on-demand content from which to choose.???‚¬??

Currently, the OVC plans to make available all regular-season and league championship Conference contests in football and men's and women's basketball, as well as all home non-conference games and select non-conference road contests in those three sports. Streaming video for select baseball, soccer, softball, volleyball and other sports will also be provided.

Subscriptions will be available on an annual, seasonal and per-event basis. Fans can select from live streaming video for selected regular-season and Conference championships as well as highlights, coaches shows, press conferences and other events. In addition, several hours of on-demand content will be available. A preliminary schedule listing the initial content offering will be released in mid-August.

The Ohio Valley Conference is the nation's eighth-oldest NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics conference, comprised of 11 member institutions from the states of Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee. The member institutions are: Austin Peay, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Morehead State, Murray State, Samford, Southeast Missouri, University of Tennessee at Martin, Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech. Additional information can be found at www.ovcsports.com.

Here is the new Valley website.
It's a huge improvement over the old one. Good job guys.

It looks like they will have MVC-TV which probably will be something similar to MLB.tv, where you can watch video of games, highlights, press conferences, etc. If you click on the screen, there are a few brief Bradley highlights among the clips they show.

As far as I know, there has been no official release of informtion about the MVC-TV and what will be available.

The only release, so far, was that the MVC has partnered with XOS Technologies--

XOS specializes in sports technology and media services like video streaming of live events. Here is a quote from the MVC's Mike Kern--
"XOS enables us to provide a wide variety of interactive fan services across multiple platforms while using the Web as a central hub," said Mike Kern, MVC???‚¬?„?s Associate Commissioner for Communications. "Now we???‚¬?„?re able to provide online content rich in high-quality, streaming video and audio that our fans can truly appreciate. The best part about partnering with XOS to upgrade and re-launch our site is that they not only laid the foundation for it, but they also support us every step of the way with their technology and business expertise. It makes the entire process more efficient and convenient for our fans and for us."

So I expect more information to come before the start of the basketball season, and maybe in time for soccer season.

I like the new web site, it's a fine improvement.

I very much enjoyed the little "One shining moment" video on the website. Seems BU got a little more air-time than the other teams :D
