PJS Matt Roth....

Dyrekus Edwards, son of Central assistant Meechie Edwards has transferred to Washington and
will play this coming season with Matt Roth for the Panthers.
I saw Edwards play at the RiverPlex with a team in the Hersey Hawkins League,
and I think he is the area's best kept secret. He is a very good player, very athletic
and will surprise a lot of people when he's on a good team that has other tough players to defend.
He is good, almost prototypical HS 2-guard that will score and compliment Roth, and look for BU to start watching him.
With him and Roth WCHS could go fyurther than ever, and you will be hearing more of him as the season progresses.
What's happening at Central?
If DJ Richardson is talking of transferring to Richwoods and Edwards is leaving for Washington, then something's up.

At the least the Braves have made the final 2......if I were a player I would worry about how long RM will hang around? He has been known to change his mind a lot!

I wonder what he meant with this statement?:
"I met the Illinois State coaches a couple of weeks ago, but I just don't have a great feel for that program right now."

I think it means exactly what he said....he doesn't have a good feel for them. He doesn't mean anything bad its just with the new coaches and such its hard to really know what to expect.

BU has an identity.

I thought he was getting interest from Michigan?
I read a posts by ISU fans that are rooting for St. Louis to get him, they don't want him at BU

I read where Majerus has talked about SLU's schedule for the coming season and claimed they still have a bunch of open dates and need to get as many as 6-8 more non-conference opponents locked in. If that's the case, Roth will probably wait until SLU finalizes their schedule so he can see who they are going to play.

I think that at this stage of the recruiting process, Roth has
a fairly decent idea of the types of teams that SLU, and BU will face. A recruit should not make a decision on a school based on the teams that the school will play during his freshman year especially if Majerus wants to redshirt MR next year.imo

But there was some earlier report saying Matt wanted to be sure he'd be playing a lot of games
within the driving range of his parents who want to see him play in college.
So maybe the schedule is of importance to him and his parents.

BU's home games are surely within driving distance.

So are a lot of BU'S away games! 8)

If driving distance is a factor, I think BU is in good shape since they aren't in the Atlantic 10.

It sounds like Mr Roth wants to wait until my wedding day to announce that he is coming to BU. It'll be a nice present.

I noticed where someone said Janks style may be too fast for Roth. Is ISU planning a Grinnel like team. Run and gun shooting within 10 seconds on every possesion.

Just asking becuase I don't know what his offensive scheme is going to be.

Can a team be much "faster" then BU was last year or will continue to be with the 4 guard set?

I just don't see ISU having a faster or quicker offensive team than BU does....

"a Grinnell like team"

You have to be kidding!
I can't wait to see Bobby Hill and Dinma Odiakosa leading the fast breaks, and Chamberlain Oguchi launching up three's with his 22% three point shooting accuracy.

One person makes the following comment on June 24th and you take it as ISU fans are rooting for SLU to get him, because WE (ISU fans) don't want him at BU:

Please go to SLU then, I don't want him in the Valley.

At that time, Roth still had Wichita on his list and there was a rumor (from that same Matt Roth thread) that SIU was in the hunt. (the poster, who is an Illini fan even said it was down to Wichita and SIU).

So how do you take the single comment above as ISU fans are rooting for SLU, so he doesn't go to BU? :?:

Are there any other comments that say "go to SLU, not BU Matt"?

IS there another Redbird message board that I don't know about, besides Redbirdfan.com, where you have seen ISU fans wish him to SLU, so he doesn't go to Bradley?

Because I have seen no evidence of that. I did see a single comment made on June 24th, where 1 ISU fan wished him to go to SLU, which in turn would keep him out of the Valley (Bradley, Wichita and SIU were all rumored to be courting him.)

I think that might be why that poster use the qualifier
"a" (defined as just one) when referring to the discussion by ISU fans.

I was just asking becuase I haven't heard what his style will be. The poster said something like ISU would be too fast for him and it made me wonder just how fast they are going to go?

I'm not talking about individual quickness just the team style.

BU runs about as much as a team can run without being a "crazy quick style" like a grinnel. I can't imagine thats what he has planned at ISU so thats why the post threw me when he stated ISU would be too fast for MR.

Then why would he later say THEY don't want him going to BU.

I read a posts by ISU fans

Wouldn't it also be "I read a post by an ISU fan" if it was meant to be defined by one person?

Probably not.
No.

Any more questions?
