Postgame thread: Bradley 74 - Indiana State 58

I am too...see you there.

The night is shaping up to be an odd night and a pretty good one from the games already played.

DePaul won...

Creighton is clobbering Wichita State

Butler, Illinois, VCU, and Winthrop all win to help keep the Valley RPI up
#3 Florida goes down
Pitt loses
Mizzou loses
Marquette loses
Air Force loses to last place TCU
New Mexico is losing to next to last place Utah
(the Valley needs to be sure that the Big XII and MWC don't get a jump in RPI and pass us in conference RPI)

Air Force thumped TCU at home 72-39. I think I read TCU shot lights out in the 2nd half (like 70-80% - sound familiar?).

Over-all good Win...........Glad for the SR's to finish out strong @ home and really happy for AW..........he had a nice game tonight........and hit shots and made steals in the heat of the game! 8)

Great send-off for the seniors.

As for the game itself, pretty much as expected. The Trees stayed close through the start of the second half. I think if there was any turning point it was when Zach made a layup when he should have been called for a travel. Then on the ensuing inbounds JC stole the ball resulting in another easy basket. BU was never headed after that.

Some time ago I said we'd make the Big Dance with four more wins any combination. I stand by that. Two down and two to go, but what the hey, let's not take any chances and win the tourney.

Go Braves.

Nice night! The senior ceremonies at the beginning and end of the game were great. Bradley is fortunate to have such great kids.
Every one of our seniors is an overachiever, and not a typical basketball story. Zach's history has been documented before. He overcame great odds to become successful at basketball. Danny overcame an injury in high school, and a coaching change to become a valuable part of last year's NCAA team, and this year's team. JJ was one of Coach Les' first recruits, but was not highly recruited. But he has been the ultimate team player for 4 years. And Will bounced around 4 schools in 4 years (high school, 2 jucos, and BU) and was hardly recruited at all, but has become perhaps the MVP of this team.

I hope everyone comes to St. Louis to support these guys, and to the postseason banquet to celebrate a great year!

Bradley with just 6 turnovers. All 5 starters in double figures. All the seniors, except Adams were in double figures, and they were trying to get Danny there, but his shot was off tonight.
Attendance 11,007. Not bad considering the weather.

And I don't want to hear any griping about the student section... we were standing the entire game (including the "lame" right side) and came up with some creative Sycamore disses (POOOOOOONYTAIL).

That was the most fun I've had at a game in awhile...

By the way, I saw Iman Shumpert there. And it looked like he was having a great time. He stayed and watched the entire senior ceremony after the game. It would be great to get him!

I don't think you will hear any complaints about the student section tonight. You guys (and gals) were great. Thank you for giving Carver Arena a great college hoops atmosphere.

Student section (and entire and crowd) were much better than the game Tuesday. Hopefully, we won't have to worry about playing at Carver again this year.

I thought the crowd was great considering the weather..the roads werent bad, but it was lousy out there. Great student section and a pretty good game. Jim is fond of the Technical Foul these days. The one ref was horrible and I really dont mind the T's

The turnovers have been one of the BIG differences this year from past years.

Here are some stats.
2006-2007-- 11.2 turnovers per game
2005-2006-- 15.1 turnovers per game
2004-2005-- 15.9 turnovers per game

All this is a testimony to the great development of our guards.

---Crowd was great, and I hope that puts to rest all the whiney talk about the crowd and the fans that has dragged on in a couple posts from last week.

--STUDENTS WERE SUPER GREAT, and as an "elder" fan, I want to say how much I appreciate the great BU fans section and band.

--I never saw Shumpert, where was he sitting?

-- Jassey didn't dress, and I asked one of the Bradley personnell and was told he got banged up in practice.
If there is some other answer, then unless it's confirmed we should not be going with rumors.

--I had a chance to talk a bit with Will Franklin's dad, who does read and occasionally posts on this board.
They are great folks from houston area and they are so proud of Will and his accomplishments.
I also had a chance to talk with Danny Adams, and asked what he's doing after graduation. He said he probably would not be playing ball nor would he look to do much more grad school, and would be looking for a job.
It was great to see the players' families, and nice to see the ones from so far away like will's and Zach's could be there.
As I have said many times before, and I want to say again for the sake of the parents who might be reading this:
We really love our BU kids, and will keep following them.....so look for followups on Will, Zach, JJ, and DA as time goes on.
