They may have one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country.

Games AT:
Clemson, Illinois, Bradley, North Carolina, Ohio State, Dayton, Marquette, Florida.

They have a 7 game stretch of all road games from Dec12 - Jan4

In actuality, it is probably easier for PC to schedule game against big names because it should be an easy W to host PC.

Absolutely correct. Now that they are officially D1, a lot of big schools are willing to play them, but only at home, and only for now.
If they become good quickly, that will change.
