Somebody please explain to me:

Since we lost Versace as coach which I use as my frame of time reference, we as a team miss so many {most often} wide open layups mirroring our lackluster ability at the free throw line where there is no guard whatsoever. There has been talk and talk and talk about it; STILL, nothing changes. Does any one out there have any idea what has been, is and apparently continues to be the cause of this? On the road or at home. It does not matter. This shortcoming follows us without fail. Surely somebody out there has information behind the 'why' of why this continues to take place!!! Thanks and Merry CHRISTmas!

Missed layups and horrible overall shooting, giving up offensive boards, virtually no perimeter D. Just an overall bad team this yr I do believe. These problems shouldn't be this bad after 9 games on what is suppose to be a good team. We are getting humiliated, correction, annihalated by an average at best team. We can only hope for an MVC tourney miracle.

Less Collins, More Brown please...

Oh sorry...yeah, to answer your question....should I go w/ the mental toughness bs answer or actually be honest unlike a particular individual?

Either way we're still at that point where we STILL substitute ourselves right out of momentum, we STILL play the wrong guys too many minutes, and we STILL have no defensive concept whatsoever:!:

St.Louis you must be watching the same game I was because with Brown in we played well, with Collins in we were getting humiliated.

Brown rebounds...

Collins gets a rebound occasionally if one falls right into his hands

Here's a crazy thought - how about going with a real frontline just once. Put Brown, Collins & Wilson in all at once & one less guy shorter than 6'.

I'm sorry I didn't mind the 3 guard offense when two of the guards were 6'5" (JC & AW), but the truth of the matter is they need to go bigger.

I don't disagree w/ the assessment but at this point, why not Thompson, Brown, and Wilson....

Also, we play a much better team concept w/ Norris and McCain out there and even Dunson....

You can probably guess who that leaves out w/o me saying.

I think they need to give AT minutes, but he is way too weak, plus with TB & AW pulling down the rebs, that leaves DC to do what he has finally started doing with some success this year - blocking/altering shots.

I will respectfully disagree with your assessment on the player to remain nameless. It may just be me, but I think he is getting more attention this year from opposing D's and that is why he's not shooting like he did last year. If you were going against BU who would you try to stop? In the TV games, he's generally the guy they feature as who will have to carry the load for BU. He is the closest thing to a go to guy for opposing coaches to go after. I hate to pull out the Soph slump, but a ton of people had given up on JC too and had him transferring to IWU after his Soph year. I think there is still alot of good BB in Mr. Nameless

I'm not even talking about his shooting to be honest....

His defense or lack of leaves much to be desired as for whatever reason he goes ADD for periods of games and sags off the best shooters on the opposing teams.

I don't fault HIM in particular for most of what goes on as I know you're only as good as the situations you are put in....

Not only does he usually have to guard much longer players than himself, but they're usually quicker as well....AND on top of that, he is playing in a defensive scheme that not even Michael Jordan could succeed in.

I also believe that he is told at times to take things upon himself a bit too much and he forces shots and allows himself to dribble into turnovers...once again, not his fault because hey, he's just doing what he's told...

The one thing I can't get on him for is that he hustles and plays hard all the time...never just going through the motions like a particular tall individual we have.

as long as we are listing thing needing explaining....

can someone tell me what is meant by "nylon music"?

Not sure if your being sarcastic LOL, but nylon music is when a team is shooting hot and the ball continously swishes thru the net. That swish sound is nylon music.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!

well....for years and years, the only musical term I had ever heard was
"string music" whoch does actually make sense as a basketball slang term.

Nylon music just doesn't make sense.

The nets are made of Nylon?

I also wish our coaching staff would look at two players and re-adjust their role a bit. I like Mr. Nameless a lot, but he needs to play within his ability and not try to do too much. As I have stated before he shoots so much better with his feet are set and in rhythm and that my friend means we should have someone else drive in and pass it out or maybe feed the ball to our big guy and have him pass it out to an open set shooter. Also we are taking so many 3s from the corner and I maybe wrong but I find shooting from the top so much easier!

The second guy is DC. He has a sweet mid-range jump shot! We should be using him on O as a 4. He is not a typical 5, in let's dunk it in your face ala big Mike Williams. Let's try to play to someones strength. You cannot change a tigers stripe.

I went to some of our home games this year with a former BU player. His assessment (and mine as well) was that with DC in the game we are playing 4 against 5. With Egolf (statement was said before Will's injury) and even Singh, we are at least playing 5 on 5.

I don't disagree w/ the assessment but at this point, why not Thompson, Brown, and Wilson....

STL, I like this lineup as well... We NEED to get AT as much playing time as possible this year. I have said this before, but I wouldnt mind playing AT with Singh depending on the situation.
