Northern Iowa lost at South Dakota State last night, 61-55.
Sophomore Garrett Callahan from Seneca, Illinois, had a huge game for SDSU with 16 points and 4 assists.
Eric Coleman, who had been UNI's leading scorer at 14.8 ppg was held to zero points. UNI's Jordan Eglseder had 18 points and 14 rebounds, but he had 16/11 at halftime, and only 2 points and 3 rebounds in the second half.

This one is on the Athletic Director....
What they hey is a solid team like UNI doing scheduling a game like this on the road....it would be like Bradley playing on the road at SIU-E!!
SDSU is only in its 3rd year as a D-I school but have done a decent job recruiting the kids who are under the radar, like Callahan, very good players who know the game well, but who come from smaller schools and are not noticed much by recruiters.

I remember seeing Garrett Callahan and his brother Griffin play at Seneca. To me, Garrett seemed a little like Shawn Jeppson (the younger posters have no idea who that is!) when he was in high school at Spring Valley-Hall. Like Jeppson, I thought Callahan could be successful at a mid major. He's just a sophomore, and he'll be a good player for South Dakota State.

It looks like brother Griffin is at North Dakota, but it appears he is redshirting this year. Are they still allowed to use the Indian logo?--

I remember Garret. Good solid player, and Seneca had a solid team that year with a good crowd at the tourney.

Jeppson.... I never really cared for him... yes a good shooter and a nice college campaign. But when UIUC fans would condescend and say 'you need to recruit him - he'd be good for you guys', it always made me wanna puke.

Guess I had/have bigger expectations for Bradley.

T do you think it really would be a huge stretch to think BU might not ever play at SIUE. There of course are a lot of connections between the schools, especially coaches, they go D1 next season. I have actually thought that BU might be the perfect school for SIUE to open up as a D1 school with. I agree we shouldnt do it but I do not think it might not never happen.

If I was the Bradley coach, I would agree to do it only if it was written in the contract that they will let Bradley win!:D

They must have played a zone defense as it would almost be impossible to stop Coleman a whole game playing man to man.

Now we're sounding like the BCS teams who want no part of teams like us in that a bad loss could hurt their recruiting! :D Well, whether or not this one's on their AD, this is a game they had no excuse in losing.
