the Pross is the Boss

I just wanted to give a shout out to #44 Jordan Prosser. He has showed tremendous improvement. The young man works hard on the boards, has been finishing underneath (and what a dunk last night!), and has been playing improved defense. I feel, like many, he deserves more minutes, but the point of this post isn't to nitpick a coach's decision, but to give praise where it's due.

On a side note, DSE seems to really have a knack for finding Jordan when he's cutting and making solid passes. They are becoming quite the fun combo to watch.

You make a couple nice observations.....DSE is becoming a solid game player , on the drive, at the line and getting open players the ball! JP is also becoming a nice post player setting better screens lately and getting to the hoop.....these 2 have a nice future ahead of them!

Can we get a 'YouTube' clip put together of that Prosser dunk? That was just awesome, and I think we're going to be seeing a lot more of those in the coming years.

JB you clearly don't understand the rules of the game. It is against the rules to dunk from the bench. You must have your warm-up off and be one of the 5 on the floor.

Hopefully BU will surround them with 6-7 other players who are as talented and can succeed in the MVC. 2-3 potential all MVC players on a roster is not enough to win in the MVC without help from the rest of the team.

Props to DSE too for his improved play and bringing better flow to our offense. He now ranks #10 in the Valley in scoring, while #3 in assists per game, while not allowing many turnovers lately.
He should really work extra hard on his outside shot in the off-season, and he will be a major threat in his next 2 seasons.

He did miss 2 key free throws in a row in cruch time, and for whatever reason, that's when he misses a lot of free throws.

Just watched to my DVR of the game this morning...they had 2 camera shots of the dunk...the one under the basket really did it justice! :D

Post of the year material here...

Bad matchup or not, why don't you have JP on the floor during the final 13 minutes of the game?? Honestly, I cannot understand JL's in-game coaching decisions. A girls grade school basketball coach could make better decisions...right JD? ;)

JP is every bit the key to this team's successful future as SM was his first year....but this time, JL does not see it :(

Maybe 'cause he marches to the theme, "And a little man shall lead us."
I'm pretty sure that by his junior year, and if Les is still coaching, he'll notch 32-35 min. per game. It seems he's not confident in JP's abilities like most of us fans are.

That is simply not true. When UNI took out their big man and replaced him with another guard, they hit a couple outside shots while JP was trying to chase him down. It was the right move to replace him with a smaller player at that time. Maybe it is fair criticism to say he should have reinserted him later and tryed to exploit the inside more, but we were having success scoring inside even without JP (BU outscored UNI in points-in-the-paint 36-8 ). But to say JL doesn't recognize JP's potential is incorrect. He recognized it long ago before a lot of other people did.

I kinda think, that like SM, JP is not always the ideal 1 on 1 matchup. So from that angle it made sense to take out JP
But, like SM, everyone else seems to play better when JP is in, and you cannot take him out at crucial times, because it hurts the team.

I am one of the few who thinks JL has done a good job of recruiting, especially guards.
We have DSE & WL who could be All-Valley players before their college careers end, and JP could be pretty good too.

Mismatches go both ways...when JP and WE were in at the same time...we were winning that battle...when JP left the game we were up 6 I believe...you know what happened after that...who did that = - thing on bigs playing...would like to see that stat from last night...JP really opened up Will on the outside...

Coachie...props for teaching JP that power dunk. :D

That was awesome!

Time will tell. Everyone is hoping you are right about DES, WL, JP and the future recruits...coming in.

Same all felt about AT, WE, MK, JE, AD, DC, DN, and EM as recruits and first year players.

Agree with 2 out of 3. Love DSE & JP but don't see WL as all Valley until he gets a shot. Love his desire, hustle and ability to get to the rim,but his shooting farther then 7' leaves alot to be desired. It can be done but is going to take alot of time in the gym this summer. I cringe when he rises for a 3 but no more then when Will used to shoot his three. If WL improves his shot as much as Will then maybe he has a chance to be all Valley someday. Sure would like to see him improve his shot as much as James from UNI did.
