I really don't think on a conference level, it has much to do with current strength of wins/losses in the league, as it does with the attendance/financial commitment. Even if we lost Creighton back in 2006, we still would have lost one of the only two schools that consistently draw over 11,000. The CAA had a lot of good teams last year when VCU left, but that didn't help them attract anyone.
Even if we had added those teams in 2006, they would still be poached now. The A10 prior to expansion was on par with the MVC, and they added teams when they could, and it hasn't helped them from ending up in the same place. The reality is, when you really can only pick from the Horizon or the MAC, you're going to end up getting weaker. Bradley's only option is to try and get in with the A10, or live with the deteriorating MVC.
Long term, have to hope Geno can build something dominant and then maybe the Big East comes calling in the distant future.
