UNI Loses Freshman Guard

Lundberg, a walk-on, has left, and that's probably a good thing for both UNI and Drew. He did a decent job early on, but with UNI having no scholarshipped point guards this past season, it was obvious that UNI needs quality point guards to run their system. They should have two next year, in addition to Kwadzo's presence. With Ahelegbe, Moran, and Farokhmanesh as the depth chart for next year (in addition to walk-on Brian Haak who was higher up on the depth chart than Lundberg), Lundberg just wasn't going to get any minutes. Then, in 2009, John Moran (a combo guard in college, and current #1 PG in Minnesota), will join the Panther roster.

I wish him well.

.

Can you clarify?
John Moran is from Algonquin, Illinois, and will be joining the Panthers this fall in 2008.

And the best guard joining in 2009 is Marc Sonnen from Minnesota, but he hasn't played any college ball yet, although this article does rate him as the best PG in Minnesota in the Class of 2009.

Brain fart, tornado! :)

Yes, Marc Sonnen is who I was referring to. Sonnen will join UNI in 2009. He's more of a combo in college (most likely), but is rated as the best PG in Minnesota as of now. You know how ratings can change though.

Moran comes to UNI either this week or next (not 2009...although I look forward to seeing him in 2009 too!). He's a true PG.
