I've listened to a couple of the BU games on the radio, and think DA is doing a great job so far, given his experience.

What do you think?

He does sound a bit nasally and higher pitched over the radio than in person.

Great young man. Good luck to him personally and in both of his careers
 
It was the NIU game, I'm thinking wow this guy is good. And then I remembered it was Danny Adams, he's doing a great job!



Edit: My mistake, that was Chad Kleine doing the color with FB on the video stream for the NIU game but Danny also does a great job working with DS.
 
He's 3 games in. I don't know what the expectations were or what the criteria would be for declaring whether he is doing well or not. Is he preparing adequately before each game and showing up on time? If so, then I would say he's doing a great job. Keep working hard DA.

I have seen Dave Snell spend the hours he spends doing pregame preparation, and I am sure he makes sure Danny is involved as well.
 
I have caught a couple minutes each of DA and Bobby Knight...I will say he's better then BK who needs to find a coaching job soon......

30 seconds left in the Illini game Illini up by 3 and BK claims if they hit these free throws its over.....The terps close within 2 with 5 seconds.

Illini On the line for 2 free throws making both would put them up by 4 with 5 seconds left......

BK then says they should make one (putting illinois up by 3) then MISS the second so Maryland doesn't have a chance to set up for a good shot. WTF......

I haven't noticed tons changing each game but DA is WAY better than I expected and much more comfortable on the radio this year than he was on TV last year. He sounds like he has been doing this far longer than he has.
 
He is doing fine, but in the post-game he needs to remember that "Talk about" is a very lazy way to start a question. It's not even a question, it's a direct order.

I agree that BK's job at the end of the Illinois game was awful.

DA is doing just fine for a new guy, but I do miss Coach
 
I like what DA has to say when he pipes up. I think he just needs to be a little more assertive, which will surely come with time and experience.

During a timeout during the NIU game (the radio feed continues on B.tv), he was talking to DS about how NIU was getting too many bunnies, but that they were just missing them. He has a lot of insight, but he just needs to speak up a little more.
 
As I was fortunate enough to win the "Bids For The Braves" auction and do the second half of the Quincy game with DS and DA, I'll toss my insight on this.

First thing I realized in doing the color on the WMBD broadcasts is that it is definitely Dave Snell's show, and rightfully so. You pick your moments to make comments but, as Dave does such a great job, you sometimes have little to add to the commentary!

Overall, Danny is doing a great job and he looked as though he's putting in similar time that Dave is doing to ensure a good broadcast. I'd like him to be a bit more forceful, maybe even challenge the listeners, but that will come in time. I really enjoyed working with Dave and Danny and think they'll be a good team for some time to come.
 
I think DA is a good job; he'll continue to improve and is much better than he was last year. I really think he is better than both Coach Bish and Stowell.
 
Was at the first 3 games so I couldn't comment on DA's job performance. But I did hear the first 15 minutes of tonight's game and thought he was very good.
 
Knowing you can't please everyone all the time, a 70% approval rating so far for DA early in his radio career as a basketball analyst is pretty good.

With an approval rating like this, Aaron Schock better watch out! :lol:
 
I like his comments during the games although he does talk a little fast at times. He needs to work out coming up with better questions for the after the game interviews. The "talk about" to start of a question is getting old and needs to have some bette, not as vague, questions
 
My only suggestion for DA is a simple adage that teachers, coaches and other presenters need to adapt to be effective:

If you can't say it in six words or less, don't say it at all.

Not a hard and fast rule, but one that can be especially helpful.
 
Got to listen to DA do the games this weekend. In game color is OK. Much better than I anticipated.

Post game is not good. We really enjoy the ride home and DA has a LOT of work to do there. Questions just aren't good and analysis is just over the top positive.

Listen, I am an optimistic person, but call a spade a spade. Good honest analysis year after year is one big reason why we have smart educated fan base.

In game color...ave to good. Post game questions and analysis...LOTS of work to do.
