Warren Jones arrested

Da Coach

As if the embarrassing loss last night wasn't enough to seal the fate of this team and staff, Bradley guard Warren Jones was arrested last night (actually early this morning) after the game for a criminal trespass charge and obstruction of identification. He was jailed in the Peoria County Jail.

Additionally, Jones was not the only Bradley player involved.

Arrested at Big Al's - seriously - on a school nite - and he is not 21 years old yet, either...so was he using fake ID?
it'll be a few days before this gets reported in the paper but they ought to start writing the obvious next story as well -
Key word -- renegade

This means that Bradley's top 2 scorers have both been arrested and are charged with crimes in the same season. Without looking it up, I will guess that has never happened before in the history of Bradley basketball.
So about the only thing left to complete the worst possible season a D1 coach can have, is if we get charged with NCAA violations next.

The word of the day is hopefully...."Samsonite". Get your bags packed.

College kids often get busted for illegal I.D.s and what have you. That is no big deal to me and is part of growing up in college life these days.

But for a basketball player to be at a place like Big Al's, or even out, at that time of night, particularly after an embarrassing loss.....well it says a lot about why the program is so bad.

Shaking my head...sad to see...

on a night when Donte Thomas sat the game out for breaking team rules - Jones goes out and breaks team rules...

or could it be there are no team rules against this kind of stuff? (the word renegade keeps coming back to haunt us)

Another Bradley player, Ka'Darryl Bell was ticketed but not taken into custody.

Let me guess what's coming next. The guys were sent by Geno and Chin on an early morning recruiting trip because they heard that "Big Al" is a legitimate post presence who can help us out immediately and he still has 1 year of eligibility left...

when will this sense end of NEVER knowing what's next - right around the corner - or coming in tomorrow's news release?

Just when you think we have hit rock bottom - we find out that we were way wrong and that things keep going from bad to worse...
If Kirk Wessler has the guts to write even one paragraph about all this mess with the whole program (not just how BAD the game last night was), he should start it off with an apology to Jim Les & Daniel Ruffin

Why is every radio station in Peoria reporting about this arrest, and it is discussed for hours on the message boards, and shows up on the County arrest site, but the award-winning Peoria Journal Star still has not mobilized their extensive work force and resources to get the information and post it yet? What a worthless rag with worthless reporters.

Ka'Darryl Bell is also underage - so if he was also ticketed at a liquor establishment then it's just a matter of time before the PJS has a front page article every day for the next two weeks and calls for housecleaning and labelling the program "renegade"..

BTW - wonder if anyone called Kyle Whelliston so he can label Bradley "renegade" on his failed midmajor site

Oh and one more thing, this morning on CSN (the Chicago TV network who did the game up in Chicago last night) they had a discussion about Bradley and the player arrests -
so now pretty much everyone has the story except the Journal/Star

BTW - update - WMBD has the story when the PJS chooses not to...
and they are reporting that Bell did indeed also have fake ID, and that other Bradley students
(not made known if others were basketball players) were also involved...

I am watching the Kap & Haugh show on ComcastSportsNet cable channel.
David Kaplan, who was the color analyst on the MVC-TV Network broadcast last night at the BU-Drake game, is talking about the events involving the Bradley players after the game last night.

They are currently on a commercial break, but will continue talking about the Bradley incident as soon as they come back.

So how much more embarrassment can this administration cause Bradley?

For those who missed the discussion- David Kaplan talked about him doing the BU-Drake game, and how Ray Giacoletti is a close friend of his. He said Drake just dominated Bradley. But then he reported that Warren Jones and Ka'Darryl Bell were both arrested at Big Al's for the use of fake ID's.
"Other Bradley players may have also been involved".

Then the discussion evolved into how college kids commonly go to bars all the time.

Kap did NOT say other Bradley players may have been involved. He said other Bradley STUDENTS may have been involved.

First off if some of the guys wanted to blow off some steam after their worst loss of the season I don't mind. But do it at your own place or maybe better yet get your heads out of your asses and start acting like a team who cares. Then again maybe this was an attempt, if there were more ball players at Big Al's, team bonding exercise. Nothing else has been working so far.
