Weather for Tuesday's SIU-E game

For any of those that travel to Peoria for BU's games, you might want to make alternate emergency plans while in Peoria. Early indications is sleet/snow likely Tuesday afternoon and snow likely Tuesday evening thru Wednesday morning. Plus with Sundays winds, areas of Peoria may just be getting its power back on if it goes out with the winds. We just can't catch a break with this stuff.

early this morning (Sunday) a new power outage has caused a large segment of Peoria from I-74 northward all along Adams, Jefferson, etc, to go completely dark and without power.
It was eerie coming to work with no lights along the expressway and none on the Murray Baker Bridge.
It is presently -3 degrees as well, very cold!

Reason number one why I do not live in the mid-west. It's 50 degrees and raining here and I'm complaining, I'd be on a plane heading south if I lived in P-town.

you'd be a horrible football player, what's wrong with a little fresh cold air every once in a while?

Fresh cold air is great when I'm skiing and chose to be in that weather. Having to wake up in the morning in 0 degree weather, to scrape your car windows, shovel off the ice and then drive into work. Sorry, not my idea of fun.

I just wish everyone a safe drive to and from the game.

Hey SFP, you may have better weather but come tues and sun. I will be able to see the games in person, not on some monitor at my desk.

As I have always maintaind the best reason to live in P-town is seeing your Bradley Braves live. For me it's still not a good enough reason with all the other days of the year to move from here. I do wish we would schedule some games out this way. Well there's Vegas next year!

How long have you been in San Fran? the golf is much cheaper here also even though it doesn"t look like I will be playing any time soon do to the weather.

I've been here for over 10 years now. We do have public golf courses that are fairly cheap and real nice. As an SF resident we receive pretty good discounts also. Then there is Presideo golf course which is real sweet for a little more. Lincoln Park is right on the bay and usually plays real nice. Money playing golf here is not so much as an issue but time to improve one's game like anywhere else is.

Also you live here because you love the outdoors. For 10.5 months of the year I can head over the Golden Gate bridge on my bike and head to some pristine wilderness and great bike rides. The restraunt scene is not too shabby either. Two down sides, BU basketball is way to far and the cost of living sure can get to you sometimes but generally there are plenty of good jobs.

At the moment Peoria is not such a great place to be as we are getting more snow, freezing rain and whatever else the sky feels like dumping on us. It will be a slow ride to the game and attendance will not be good as I know of several people that have cancelled on going tonight.

Yeah, and the Interstates outside of Peoria are TREACHEROUS. Listening to the area State Police districts, have heard at least 30 roll overs in the last few hours. Mainly between Springfield and Peoria, then out west a tad bit. Of course, a lot of these people are numnuts that think they can drive 70 on slushy roads but it's still pretty bad out in the rural areas.

I think we got spared tonight. It warmed up a little and roads were fine, IMO (considering what they coulda been)... even heading all the way out to the far, far NW Suburbs. :D
