Whelliston at Carver tommorrow

Maybe he can chat with Jim Les before the game and explain why he called for his firing last year, and why he called Bradley a 'renegade program'. I think he owes Jim that much.

Wonder where he will sit. Does Bradley roll out a Red Carpet for him since he is someone of the Media? Does he sit elbow-to-elbow with KW and DR? Does he go to the post-game Press Conference?

He's been to Carver before. And he's quite the experienced road traveller, so I am sure he'll find his way. :D
His blog about this year's travels is interesting. His next entry should be from Peoria-

His travel map, not yet updated to show Peoria.-

Whelliston is also writing a book about his travels this season, so let's hope the chapter about Peoria and tonight's game is a good one!

If anyone sees or meets Kyle, please be nice, and treat him to some Peoria and Bradley hospitality! For the sake of his book, we want his experience here to be a pleasant one!

He should get the "best seat in the house" in front of the Red Sea...someone could "accidentally" spill "something" on him

I am always one to take the "high road" and I agree here with you DC.

However, I believe Kyle W. owes it to the BU fans to address what he said about our program and not only it's coach, but a BU basketball legend.

Does he still believe this? Did he overreact in his assesment? If so he tossed an awfully big "mahtza ball" out to there on a national sports forum regarding BU hoops.

I as most really appreciate what Kyle W. does and am a big fan of his coverage of "Mid Level" hoops. But, if we are to read his columns and respect the info he presents us, I just don't see how we can ignore his comments from last season.

Help Me understand!:)

I'm certain Kyle will get an in-depth firsthand look at what Bradley's program is like today, and write about it exactly as an outsider sees it.

What has he said about Bradley that was inaccurate?

I don't think anyone said he did. Don't we always want accurate info about BU in any report that is written? Why question his comment? Now if he said, Hopefully with inaccurate info, then we should question it.

Kyle Whelliston doesn't owe anyone at BU an apology...and I really don't understand why anyone really cares all that much about what he wrote. There were multiple instances last year where BU players were arrested/ticketed after their involvement in criminal/illegal activities. He labeled us as a "renegade program" as a result.
Do I consider the BU program a "renegade program"? No...but I don't think he needs to retract his statement or offer some formal apology either. There were bad "police blotter" instances that happened with this team last year...Whelliston saw that and voiced his opinion on the matter...He never labeled us as the most blatantly corrupt program in the country or the only program to have any legal problems in the country...If he had portrayed us in that light, then yes, I would call those inaccurate statements and would expect a retraction of some sort.
A national reporter is here to cover the BU program tonight...it would be really nice if he was able to walk away from this experience with positive things to write about our team, our fans, our basketball environment, etc...rather than having an article come out talking about getting hassled by a bunch of petty fans that threw beer on him and demanded apologies from him for using the phrase 'renegade program'...Let it go...it's really not a big deal.

--First...I am not so sure I actually agree with this.
One player was arrested (DRuff) and the others were cited...

--but if the coach is responsible for all of such behavior, then why single out Bradley when so many, many other schools have had far, far more of such behavior (such as ISU, U of I, UNI, etc....) and somehow, Whelliston gives all those coaches a complete pass and it isn't their fault at all!

Exactly. What he wrote last year was based on exactly that. . .embarrassing facts. Like it or not.

People are mad because he chose to use BU as the example. It's funny how people wish to be the example everyone wants to follow, but excused when they are pointed out as a bad example.
