Come on STB you are starting to become obsessive and a bit negative on this forum. I know the feeling, so I can spot it! Step away from your computer and go out and smell some fresh air!

No, I'm just questioning who all these great local kids are....

Paris Gulley is a prime example...was talked up for a couple years about being something of a stud and he ends up at a JC...

Back a few years before, DeAndre Miranda was talked during his Soph. season as the next coming of Marcus Griffin....

Shall I play the "where is he now" game?

Outside of Stewart, I don't recall of any players in the area that could be impact, well, other than maybe Bobo...but he's already set his sights higher as far as I can tell.

Paris Gulley got lots of D-I attention but in the end most D-I coaches felt he didn't have the body, strength, and stamina to play at the D-I level thus he's at juco, but he's doing well, and playing on one of the top jucos in the nation and averaging double digits. He will continue to get D-I attention.

Miranda was a problem with grades, and nobody thought he'd be a strong D-I candidate since he was never a scorer..but he starts at the D-II level.

Lastly, if you don't like the talk of the local kids and the talent from Peoria, then don't buy the newspaper today...
they have a full page of coverage on all the D-I caliber talent in our area..

Best of the rest big-school boys in the mid-state 6 and mid-illini. A great summer has the Woodruff transfer back on the D-I radar. Best shooter in the M-S 6 since jamar Smith; benefits from bobo's bounce passes.

..and when compared to other cities of comparable size...Bloomington, Springfield, Rockford, Aurora, etc...
Peoria sends more kids to D-I than those other cities!

The biggest problem you have with recruiting local players is that most of them don't want to stay in peoria, they want to experience the college life of being away from home and with those players you have 0 chance. I wish we would do better getting guys from the Chicago area as the ones we have gotten to play at BU have done very well here.
