I have to agree.....I recognize whats GOOD about BU but I'm not afraid to talk about our shortcomings.

I don't have his signature but a poster on the other board has a good one that says..."A REAL fan recognizes/applauds his teams accomplishments but isn't afraid to speak out about its shortcomings."

Thats a terrible paraphrase on my part but I think the point is made.

JD has it correct.....BU is no sinner OR saint. JL is not all good OR all bad.

People would have to have their heads buried in the sand to think all is well with BU ON the court. But I respect those that would rather just discuss the good stuff but don't label me anti anything if I choose to speak out about whats bad.

And IF you don't want to hear the bad stuff you either have to start your OWN board and moderate it to your taste or hope someday THIS board allows ONLY good things to be said.

Personally I think that would lead to a very boring board but thats just me.

The discusions on here will get better as soon as BU does.....JMHO

I don't disagree with anything you said, and I don't mind constructively critical comments. I'm just not a fan of the mocking, feeling the need to become more negative when someone is positive, the repetitive negativity and general curmedgeonly approach to BU hoops. I am not a mod, just stating what I don't like to see. They can do what they want.

One thing I don't understand, on a fan level, is the attitude that anything positive that happens is "expected," therefore not worthy of acknowledgment, and anything negative is a sign of a huge problem. You can feel that way if you want to, I just don't understand how you can take that approach to something that you want to enjoy. But that's just me, not necessarily a message board issue.

Not true....Lots of props for BU wins the last 4 games! Even from the "change" agents on this Forum.

Cheering current BU successes and believing change would help BU after this season is over don't have to be mutually exclusive.

Some thoughts on the back and forth arguing that sometimes happens on here.....

Everyone just take a deep breath and relax a second.

We all know Bradley hasn't won as much as we would all like in the past few years. We can also all agree, I think, that under Jim Les, Bradley has been mostly clean. To be sure, there have been some trouble here and there, but for the most part Bradley has avoided major crimes and headlines.

The world is gray. It is not black and white. Bradley is not 100% clean, 100% of the time. We are also not UNLV from the 1980's-90's either.

Jim Les/Bradley are not sinners or a saints, they are just like the rest of us...somewhere in between.

Bradley may not be 100% clean under Jim Les, but they are far, far closer to 100% clean than the vast majority of programs out there, and are far, far closer to 100% clean than some here are making him out to be (I'm not directing this at you BradleyJD, just to a few posters here who make Les out to be the next John Calipari).

I will gladly take Les and a few mediocre years over just one great year under a Calipari/Kelvin Sampson type who can wreck a program with a snap of their fingers! A case in point would be Indiana who is STILL trying to rebuild their program back to something even close to .500 after all these years!

Jim Boeheim and Coach K might be as close as it gets and I'm not sure we'll see that sort of tenure again once they leave.

Well there are others like Homer Drew, Mark Few and Jim Larranaga who probably won't be going anywhere soon, though Homer is probably the closest to retirement if he choses too do so. Perhaps Scott and Bryce Drew will stay at their respective programs for a long time (if Bryce does take over as head coach from his dad one day). And I'm sure there are other mid-major coaches that I don't even know about who have had long runs at their schools.

Thank you JD and have to agree completely. This is the precise reason I hardly post anymore as we have so many opinions that turn to arguments on line. I read some of the comments that are made and laugh as they show how much BB some really know (I am not saying all of you and not pointing fingers at anyone).
An opinion is OK either way but why do we have to defend our opinion all of the time. State your case but stop the arguing, bickering, and name calling(yes it happens-maybe not directly but indirectly all of the time)

Agreed....

It is fun to debate people on many topics. It is not fun to argue and name-call.
