Karrington Ward lists his suitors including those he's hearing from in this new article but doesn't mention Bradley...
In fact - it's discouraging but all those promising young recruits we were all so happy over that had been looking at Bradley
(Peyton Allen, Larry Austin, Jr., Karrington Ward, Nate Taphorn, etc..) are almost all still open but none are mentioning BU any more...
..edit - Larry Austin does still mention he has an offer from Bradley but his comments do not reflect that he is considering us from among the bigger offers like Mizzou, Memphis, DePaul...

Yeah, but that article doesn't even spell his name right.

it's very hard to know if ISU has done anything that will ever help them..only time will tell...
Their new verbal isn't top-ranked by anyone and could turn out to be another Kenyon Smith....although he seems like a good player...
I wouldn't exactly liken Paris Lee to Nic Moore yet.....
- remember Moore barely missed out in a strong year in IN - on being named Mr. Basketball in Indiana (behind a kid who may well be the #1 NBA draft pick next spring) - so Moore was undeniably a pretty good recruit
Lee is still pretty obscure and is a bit of an unknown commodity - again only time will tell
anyway - didn't ISU just sign Kaza Keane who is going to be their PG-of-the-future for the next four years so where's a 5-9 2013 PG gonna get any playing time there anyway? Or is he just the backup option until he's a senior?

BU fan 9 is not the only fan and season ticket holder who has this opinion. I have talked to a lot of long time fans who are concerned about the direction the basketball program has taken. As I have posted before, even several friends of mine who have been dedicated fans and season ticket holders for decades (including some who post regularly here) are choosing not to renew their tickets this year. I think it is a combination of factors, but one factor is just not seeing enough additions or improvements to this year's team to generate the usual excitement needed for fans. We all know what the deficiencies were last year that were the most obvious (shooting, interior defense, and point guard play). Despite the time and available scholarships, I think fans just don't see much improvement in those areas to give them optimism about this season. I am not blaming the current coach, and most fans aren't, but he is now the one who has to get things going in the right direction. Recall, I made a number of predictions when the coaching change was made, and every one of them has happened just as was predicted so far (see the early fallout discussions).
And for those who say it takes 3, 4 or more years, or that it takes establishing a winning tradition before a new coach can hope to recruit impact players, just look back at the extraordinary quality of players recruited as early as the 2nd year by past coaches. Coach Molinari and Coach Les had probably their best recruiting classes in their 2nd year (actually their first full recruiting year). We will need some positive happenings like that to get the fan support building again.

I don't see anything different happening this time around from other times(coaching changes). Except a group of fans that aren't happy we made a coaching change. I realize some people aren't happy with the Prez,I am not blind. But I don't understand what all the anti Bradley stuff is going to accomplish. I too will be happy when coach Ford makes some progress to help those fans move on.

I will make a prediction.....
This weekend (or shortly thereafter) a juco kid will respond to an offer and decide to go to Bradley and we will hear about it possibly as soon as next week....

1) Was it acceptable to you to have never finished higher than 4th in the MVC with only one NCAA appearance in 10 years? Some would call that mediocrity.
2) Would you even categorize a person as a "fan" who forfeits his season tickets when "their" team is going through a down time? Unless it's for financial reasons I sure wouldn't... Unless you want to categorize them as a fair weather fan. I know you and tornado would certainly not pull your support of the team you are a fan of... Once a fan always a fan IMO. Why is it OK for other "fans" to quit?

up thru 2007 the MVC was a midmajor conference that got multiple bids - placing the MVC in the upper echelons of mid-major-dom...
finishing a couple games out of 1st in such a conference was no shame..it was NOT mediocrity.
Heck if finishing 10-8 & 11-7 in a conference that sends FOUR teams to the NCAA and is the TOP ranked non-BCS conference is mediocre, then what do you call going 2-16 when the Valley is considerably WEAKER?
... now the Valley has fallen off quite a bit - they had the lowest Conference RPI this past year - than since the early 2000's
And yet.........ISU finshes 9-9 & you'd think ISU had an all time best year, their coach gets hired away, people seem to drool over how good they are, and they get picked to be at the top of the MVC this year, and yet their 9-9 finish is worse than those 4th place finishes BU gets hammered for! So it's all in perspective.
Everyone seemed to want to get rid of Mo - and yet a few years later everyone was talking about maybe he got runout a bit hastily and it set us back quite a bit & how good we would have been had we let Mo stay a couple years and coach Granger, Gillingham, Gilbert, Tucker, etc...
Now everyone wanted to run JL out, and I think for the next few years we're going to have similar talk..
BTW - we need a shooter and scorer - I ran across this - kid right in our back yard
