again - and I will say it real clear - that anyone in existence can sign up or enroll in a college - you don't even need to be out of high school or even need to be an athlete let alone an athlete cleared by NCAA to be on scholarship - so your link proves nothing whatsoever..
and as I said - we have seen countless times where a kid does enroll - only to have NCAA much later decline to clear him - I gave the Daniel West, Kenyon Smith, McLemore, Traylor examples - but I can give you almost as many as you want - Guy Marc Michel at IU and closer here to home - Daniel Ruffin, Jermaine Brown...and it's not like a whole lot of examples don't come from the Chicago area public schools...in fact just about the whole starting five of Derrick Rose's Simeon - were ultimately disqualified and Rose should have been as well (Smith, Flowers, Johnson)...but all AFTER they were already enrolled in college.

AND IT WOULDN'T EVEN BE MAJERUS' FIRST EXPERIENCE with this situation either...
so I don't know how it'll turn out - Carter might get cleared - but it hasn't happened yet and nobody's actually talking about it yet because it is NOT a certainty..but just being physically presdent there does not determine the NCAA's call although I gotta believe RM is hoping it does..

You are wrong on one account. The NCAA now does not allow a student to be on scholarship if they are not eligible. You can go to school, but you are paying your own way. Most kids can't afford to do that, so they either get eligible or don't attend...see this summer at Bradley with Tyshon Pickett.

Incoming freshman Rodney Purvis is on campus at NC State and has been taking summer classes since early July...
BUT -- he's still not cleared by the NCAA and now it's getting a bit more worrisome..

But he HAS been ruled ineligible...temporarily so that he doesn't go on a preseason exhibition tour...

One story says the NCAA is working on kids who play fall sports first so that's why basketball rulings seem delayed - but NCAA is moving up certain cases where a preseason exhibition trip is coming up and they need a ruling ASAP

You made something up out of thin air, I called you out on it, and then you changed your story to something less made up. Now you are posting examples of other recruits ruled ineligible that has nothing to do with you being wrong the first time around. Why can't you just say "I misunderstood, I was wrong." But instead you would rather keep digging.

So for the record. Keith Carter is a scholarship player at Saint Louis University participating in summer classes and workouts. I am assuming he is even listed on the rooster. And Rick Majerus and co. are doing just fine recruiting, and so are Geno and co.

maybe - but also maybe not so fast -- news trickling out slowly and unreliably that Keith Carter who finished #2 in Mr. Basketball voting has reportedly still not yet been cleared nor admitted to Saint Louis leading to fears he may still end up somewhere else...
time will tell........

..don't know all the reasons - but he will end up somewhere else...he's transferring from Saint Louis after playing in only 3 games
