  • OT (Sort of): Stand Up!

I just saw this video on the Notre Dame official website and it reminded me of some problems we have with this at Carver Arena

... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

I do not see it as OT! Carver could be a great home school advantage but..... I know some of the folks will mention that students do not attend the games. Let's hope this changes in the coming years. I still say the student body should get better seats. Who are these games for primarily?

Agreed! (Guess it qualifies a bit more as "random!) I didn't think it would be a problem at such a big school as Notre Dame and at a FOOTBALL game where there are 82,000+ people crammed in a bowl, but I was shocked the first year I went (against Purdue) that they have the same sort of problem. Last year was great, if there was really a "wake up the echoes" moment I was a part of it when USC came to Notre Dame Stadium for the first Night Game in 21 Years, they experimented with using piped in music (got old, I still love the Band!) but as they blasted Shipping Up to Boston right before opening kickoff and the towels were waving there was a sense that the group that wanted to stay seated was going to have to sit down and shut up that night! In fact someone behind me heard someone yell "SIT DOWN! I CAN'T SEE THE PLAY!" ANd about 20 people yelled SHUT UP! Back at him! They lost but the atmosphere was electric!

that's funny but the #4 guy is still being obnoxious and inconsiderate of the fans behind him

We go to 3 or 4 ND games a year, and the stadium is usually dead. Not many meaningful games lately and the endless commercial breaks and lack of a jumbotron suck the life out of the stadium. I like the piped in music, it just needs to be done better. Can't handle nothing but the band all game long. The cure of course is to win games.
