  • MVC 2013-14 and future partial skeds

I came across the following Creighton link that shows schedules for 2013-14 and beyond for the (new) Big East as well as for the MVC. It has the IPFW game on BU's schedule so it can't be more than a few weeks old.

WBR’s Patrick Marshall keeps a running spreadsheet of future non-conference games for all of the Big East teams as they’re announced; those lists are now available on the following pages: Future Creighton Basketball Schedules Future...
My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.

Well done by those who maintain that site- and thanks for posting. It looks like Bradley's non-conference scheduling is ahead of most MVC schools.

so are the 2013 BracketBuster return games going to be done this year and not delay a year, or is it optional?

What schools do you think have done a poor job scheduling?

I was not commenting on the quality, but the completeness of their non-conference schedules. From what I see, every other school is doing a good job so far.

Gotcha. Although some Valley teams might not have the best overall schedule I think there has been a better effort to schedule marquee games.

SIU is playing in the Gulf Coast Showcase along with WIU, UIC, and a few other mid majors - plus ONE DIII team!!

the games are hosted by UNC-Greensboro but are played at campus sites then in Ft. Myers November 25-27...
Even though the Gulf Coast Showcase (I'm not sure if this tournament has a sponsor name yet) brackets haven't been announced yet, the athlet...

...but worrisome is that the brackets are not yet confirmed - so could this also be one of those low level, poorly organized, extremely poorly promoted tourneys that collapses at the last minute??

Sounds about like the tourney ISU was suppose to be in. Sounds like ISU and two other quality schools were a go but the failure to secure a fourth made the tourney fall apart.

For the first time in a long time - starting last year - the D-I schools in Iowa are not going to all play each other...

For years - Iowa, Iowa State, UNI, and Drake always played each other to keep the people in the state happy...but of course slowly the greed factor snuck in... not to mention the big boys were always being embarrassed and worried about losing recruiting battles to UNI & Drake.

But after a while Iowa & Iowa State whined about playing on the road at the mid-majors - so the demanded either their place or a neutral site - but now they are dropping the games altogether...

Iowa State just released their schedule and they are NOT playing Drake this year...first time in a long time...

but I get a laugh out of this news release - their non-conference schedule is so bad that they tout NIU as one of the top teams in the non-con portion of the schedule...

They also have a ton of other patsies - UNC-Wilmington, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, UMKC, George Mason, Oregon State/Akron - but they do get UNI - however they won't go to UNI - they want it at a Neutral Site -
but Des Moines is hardly Neutral - it is only 30 miles form Iowa State but well over 2 hours from UNI
...seems a game against Drake would bring in a ton more revenue than a crappy game against Texas A&MCC

LOYOLA and UC-Davis as well as SIUE -- so all three of those teams are coached by MVC guys...

UC Davis of the Big West, Loyola (IL) from the Missouri Valley Conference and
