Did anyone else notice there was an arrest of a Bradley athlete over the weekend?

since the player is 19 years old - isn't this more than just a DUI? There's a separate violation of just drinking while underage...
(his alcohol test was .186 - "MORE THAN TWICE THE LEGAL LIMIT" for intoxication"...)

but why isn't their media jumping all over this...demanding that their "renegade program" dismiss him & the coach or demanding to know where the liquor came from or insisting the President of the University step in and mandate a stiff suspension?
But - he's not suspended at all - still practicing, traveling with the team - enjoying all the benefits (free food with extra snacks, travel expenses, athletic gear - all free -- same as every other player) Why no suspension?

Who? Dante Thomas sat out last nights game for violating team rules. Geno said it was not due to legal reasons right??

That is correct. Donte's situation was not a legal issue.

That statement about a BU athlete being arrested was not a basketball player. That is all I'll say, but if anyone wants to know more, PM me.

Let me first say that I hope Marshall doles out some serious consequences. As I said on ShockerNet, I will not be saddened if he is dismissed from the team, regardless of how good he may be.

There is no suspension because they haven't made any punishments public yet. He's not on scholarship and not eligible to play, so technically he's just a regular student and there's no need to rush into announcing a suspension that wouldn't be served for a year anyway.

He is not travelling with the team because he's not allowed to by NCAA transfer rule. Only eligible players may travel. We also have no idea if he is getting any of the benefits you listed since, again, nothing has been made public. He was not on the bench last night, as he had been previously.

There are university policies in place which they are going to follow, but this is the first time Marshall has had a player at WSU arrested for anything more than trying to break up a fight. I feel confident in saying Marshall has little tolerance for reckless, irresponsible behavior by his players (especially one who has been a part of the program for all of a few weeks) and will hand down an appropriate punishment.

there was a little tongue-in-cheek in my prior post mocking how the similar situations have been mishandled here..

If it is the kid's first transgression then proper punishment should include a chance at quick redemption if he shows the right attitude.

All of us who have ever been either teenagers or parents of teenagers know that some kids sense right away what their errors are and make quick amends and work at redemption
