in the two games we played against Evansville, we held him to a little under his averages

A little bit surprising....Missouri already got a commitment from ex-Illini PG Mark Smith, and they have another good point guard recruit coming in the class of 2018, Xavier Pinson, and they are still in the running for perhaps the best point guard in the class of 2018 Courtney Ramey.
Plus, they are hotly in pursuit of several top ranked point guards in the class of 2019, as well.
And probably none of those other point guards are one-and-done prospects, and they are all younger than Dru Smith. So when Smith finally becomes eligible in 2019-20, he could be competing for playing time with numerous other much higher rated point guards who will be there for the final 2 years of Smith's eligibility.
Even if he is hoping to get playing time at the shooting guard position, that spot could be just as crowded as point guard. Missouri has several talented SG's coming in, and they are in hot pursuit of several others in the classes of 2018 & 2019.

btw- Iowa State is so heavily invested in these DI transfers that I wonder if other instate kids just won't consider them knowing they always bring in boatloads of transfers who start and take all the playing time...They also have a lot of transfers out....Hmmm....the Illinois kids headed over to Iowa State may have to find out the hard way
Iowa State does have an instate kid transfering in from Nebraska.

He averaged 16.1 ppg this past season at CSU-

I was on the Milwaukee train if we couldn't find a better 12th with Murray State but at least the timing seems bad for it. Get our games on Fox Sports Wisconsin and coverage in the MKE press. Recruit that state easier. 10 years ago they had good attendance and success. I see potential there like I did Loyola, but with less $$$ and more of the commuter school stigma. Still, what's a better 12th if SLU, Belmont and Dayton aren't on board? Just adding Murray State would have given Loyola 1, possibly 2 more Q1 wins and solidified their at large status this past season.

Losing LaVall Jordan so early to Butler was a tough break for them and who knows yet if his successor knows what he's doing although he does have a good resume. Maybe this will make Tejon Lucas's decision easier.

Very unusual, especially since 2 of those 3 top players are juniors, and only have 1 year of eligibility left. It is rare for a player with only 1 year of eligibility left to transfer.
In addition to losing their top 3 players, their 4th leading scorer and 2nd leading rebounder is a senior, and will also not be returning. Milwaukee was not a good team even with all their talent intact, but now it looks like they may be in for a long rebuilding era.

And there were many people who wanted them added to the MVC a year ago. Thankfully, that did not happen, Valparaiso was selected over Milwaukee. Valparaiso was the top team in the Horizon league, and still finished last in the MVC. Milwaukee was the worst team in the Horizon League last season (2016-17), so just how bad would they have if they played in the MVC this season?
But there are still people who think the MVC should expand and add them, something I have been opposed to.

Just speculation, but must be a tremendous motivation for Reeves to be leaving...after all, Wichita took him in as a walk-on then gave him a scholarship and elevated him to a starter!!
    So much for loyalty!!
He's a 6-5 below-the-rim sophomore shooting guard who averages 8 ppg but shoots 42.5% from the arc....
he was 5th on the team in minutes played, 7th in rebounding, 6th in scoring, 4th in assists

I think the fact that Wichita signed players for next year that will likely move past him in playing time and the prospect that the Shockers might have a very down year were motivation enough to sit out a year and play somewhere else
Maybe there is another reason they are bailing. One word!!!! FBI
