2020 and Beyond Recruiting Targets

That description sounds a bit like DJ Carton, who was ranked as high as 31 coming out of high school and is now transferring from Ohio state. He would obviously be a big get, and to be clear, I have no inside information and am just speculating. It’s one of my favorite things to do, think of who might come.

Bradley is continuing to evaluate new recruits who recently entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. Our coaches are involved with potential impact transfers, including a National Top 100 recruit out of high school.
A couple of them are kids that Bradley offered out of high school and who our coaches have strong relationships with, and who are now transferring from Power 5 conference schools.

I've looked up as much as I can find on him. He is also called a good decision-maker, good passer, and an effective point guard. He plays on the Vashon team that has 2 other high-major 2020 D1 recruits- Kobe Clark, who is committed to Georgetown, and Cam'ron Fletcher, who is committed to Kentucky, and they have underclass kids who are potential D1 recruits as well..
Vashon won the Missouri Class 3 State Championship last year (in fact they have won 3 of the last 4 years), and they are favored to win again this year. They won Tuesday night to advance to their sectional final Saturday.

It looks like the Missouri State HS Athletic Association is going ahead with their tournament, but with limited fan attendance.

Despite playing on such a great team with other great players, Russell was often their leading scorer, and also kept the other stars involved. He sounds like in the right situation, he could become another Darrell Brown-type of point guard. By that, I am not suggesting he will be as good as DB, but that he has the ability to shoot the ball as well as pass.

RE: 2020 Phillip Russell
I can add a little bit here. A co-worker of mine is big into the St. Louis basketball scene. His brother coaches here. He calls Russell a very good PG. Height is probably more like 5'10" so on the shorter side. But he calls him super tough and a good shooter.

I wonder how the virus is affecting the recruitment of players here, Canada, and Europe.

A new name-
2020 Phillip Russell- 6' sharpshooting point guard from Vashon HS in St. Louis. He committed to SEMO last November, but they just fired their head coach Rick Ray (LINK), and Russell just asked for and was granted his release (LINK) and reopened his recruitment. Bradley is in the market for another point guard with offensive skills, and Russell seems to fit that description.

SEMO's other commit, RaMean Hinton of Chicago Curie, also just decommitted and is available. There is no word whether Bradley is interested, but he is a talented 6'4" wing player who is rated as a 3-star recruit.

The PJStar just put out an article that quote Wardle saying Bradley is looking for sharpshooters.

I am also hearing there was another recent 2020 recruit visit who is very strong on Bradley.

I saw him at the last game. He's thin. I think that comment referred to if he went to Big 10 type school. He will get stronger and redshirting may not be needed in the MVC.

Interesting that the tweet mentioned prep school or redshirting. I assume to build up his body.

Oak Forest fell a little short of upsetting the #1 team in the state, Chicago Curie. The final score was 66-55. Jayson Kent lead Oak Forest with 17 points.
