Could be 100% his choice or he may have discussed with the new coaching staff and felt they did not feel the same about him as the former staff.
UIC gets another portal transfer- Sam Silverstein, a 6'6" junior G/F from Cal Baptist will join UIC as a grad-transfer. He played 2 seasons at Harvard, and then transferred and played 2024-25 at Cal Baptist. This past season as a junior at CBU, he averaged 4.0 ppg and 5.8 rpg. He is originally from Glencoe, Illinois, and attended New Trier HS.

Sam Silverstein has an interesting story. He attended Harvard for 4 years, but only played in 2 seasons, 2021-22 and 2022-23. His first year, 2020-21 was cancelled due to Covid. And he decided to take a redshirt year in 2023-24 to focus on his studies. He graduated from Harvard in 2024 with 2 years of eligibility left. He left Harvard and played 2024-25 at Cal Baptist, and now will play his final year at UIC.

Valparaiso lands a big man transfer, and it is a player that Bradley had some recruiting contact with a few weeks ago.
Shon Tupuola- a 6'9" sophomore F/C at NAIA St. Mary-of-the-Woods College, a small private Catholic school located just outside of Terre Haute, Indiana. He went to Brownsburg HS in Indiana, and was not highly recruited. But this past season as a sophomore at SMWC, he averaged 14.5 ppg and 12.2 rpg. His field goal percentage was a whopping 71.3% from the floor. Murray State gets another portal transfer- Javon Jackson, a 6'3" junior guard from UIC. Murray State will be his 4th college in 4 seasons. He started as a freshman at Division II Southern Nazarene University in Okalahoma in 2022-23. Then he played at Utah State in 2023-24. Then at UIC in 2024-25. And in 2025-26, he is committed to play at Murray State. This past season at UIC, he started 29 of 31 games, and averaged 11.6 ppg, 1.9 rpg, and 2.7 apg, and he shot 30.6% from three.

Solid 6-9 Chicago kid who played two years for Miami but was well behind other bigs in the rotation so never played more than a few minutes per game. Then missed most of 2024-25 with injuries at Saint Louis.
