  • What a first day

Quite the day for BU basketball in having five players announce to play for BU next season. What a great deal it would be if they can get Amari McCottry to sign as well. Have heard he is high on Wardle's list. Great pick up if we can land him as he was a finalist for Mr. Basketball in Wisconsin. Jaquan Johnson was also in the running for Mr. Basketball. Maybe Jaquan can put in a good word on Bradley's behalf for him to sign. So can't, wait for the season to start. "Go Braves"!!!

It sounds as if Bradley has done a good job in Recruiting at least at the mid-Major level! However, as stated above we need a couple more quality players so we can compete at a high division 1 level when we win the 2025 Valley tourney and most likely take on a high Major!!! I keep wondering how did Bradley back in 1950 become the # 1 ranked team in the AP poll at seasons end? How did we recruit such talented players to come play in Peoria??? Wish I was alive then! However, I'm so proud I can boast how great Bradley was consistently back in the day!!! I guess it had to be great Recruiting......

Amari McCottry visited St. Louis University yesterday afternoon - https://twitter.com/MidtownMadPod/st...07025653281015
        >> https://twitter.com/MidtownMadPod/st...42987866738911

And Robbie Avila is visiting there tonight - https://twitter.com/JackGodar/status...06582673051894

That could mean that McCottry is visiting Bradley today (or possibly tomorrow).

St. Louis has quite a list of recruits visiting this week - https://twitter.com/MidtownMadPod/st...69623011127724

Hopefully, that means they didn't offer him yet (there is no report that they have offered him) - https://verbalcommits.com/players/amari-mccottry

Let's hope Bradley's Milwaukee guys (Hannah, Burch) can help close the deal.

I would think Hannah, Burch and Johnson would help seal the deal

1950 was a totally different recruiting time. The major difference was schools like r Kentucky and most other southern schools did not recruit Black athletes. That continued until Adolph Rupp’s team lost to a mostly Black team (Texas Western - now UTEP) and Rupp was at least smart enough to see the future success of college basketball was going to be dependent upon the school’s ability to recruit Black athletes. Would Bradley be successful today recruiting Chet Walker?

I remember a newspaper article that said Tart and Strawder were recruited in one trip through Florida.
